Hey so I just did a single cup run and it got rejected because it was on emu. Just wondering why you can't run single cups on emulator.
Yea but it doesn't make any sense since we can run all cups on emu like what's the difference?
The load times are different. The timing would be small but milliseconds would make the difference between runs since it's only one cup.
To be fair, I found that out when I first started the single cup run aswell. Not too bothered about it. That makes complete sense though, Goodle.
Reason we have it for the full game and not the single cups is just because of the amount of players really. We'd have a bunch of blank VC/Emu leaderboards for single cups. So it just seems a bit excessive. For a long time we didn't even have the single cups at all but they're just there now so that we can at least keep track of the WRs (which VC and emu would be irrelevant for in this case)
Would it possible for reconsideration on this issue? There are well over a hundred All Cups (No Skips) players now, can we please have Single Cups Emu now?
Can someone please give me an answer on whether or not we can have single-cup emu runs now? There are many more players than there were 1 year ago.
i'D like emu single cup leaderboards aswell! i ordered a n64 usb controller and i would love to start running single cup first just to kinda get some experience before playing a full cup
I'll be completely honest here and say that my hesitation towards adding the emulator categories has to do with the lack of serious competition the comes with people playing on emulator. We get a lot of random "let's play" type submissions, and a lot of people trying to pick up "emulator WR!!" since none of the top players play on emulator. There is also the fact that it is a very incomplete leaderboard. We have a similar problem on the current ones though. People do full game runs, and there are a lot of really great cups that have been done during full game runs that people haven't timed separately and submitted to the cup leaderboards. I'd feel the need to at least somewhat fill in times that aren't submitted which I had done for a few old record on N64.
People can definitely do cup runs and not submit to the leaderboard here if they'd like. I'll think about adding emulator though since I know there a lot of people like yourselves that probably would just like to have it listed in their profiles and such because it's a nice way to keep track of your times. In the mean time, keep track of your times on your own and be on the lookout for emu to maybe be added in months to come when I get a chance to set it up nicely.
Tbh id do emu runs cuz im too poor for an n64 and im too impatient to do a full game run
I personally don't like using an emulator, I'm glad it's considered a different catagory.
