I am applying for the "No item" subcategory in the All cups skips category.
In recent years, skips run has increased the number of shortcuts that used items.
Due to this effect, the Random Number Generator is highly dependent and very tiring.

There are many shortcuts that do not use items, so I think this category has a strong presence.

Generally I think if you demonstrate a run and have a route for it in mind, the mods will consider adding it. You make some good points though and I think it would be a good addition.

My issue is that would you reset if you use any items or is this simply, not using items to produce skips.

If you use an item, do not approve it as a record. It is Okay who takes the item box.
I want to apply with this content.

I’d say give it a go. Even if the run category doesn’t get accepted at least you’ll have fun trying it out.

Yeah, I really want this no item sub-category to come true.
I recently won a WR in all cups skips.
I fully understand the pain of Random Number Generator depending on the items used in Skips.
Basically I would like to add to skips other than 100%.

uhm i feel like the forum isnt a lot of times the places that mods check usualy to accept or deny in leaderboard, but anyways
well someone said it, try doing a run for it and prove how much and worth it can actualy be, and then you can speak more cleary about it
the main point is having fun with the run, so go ahead even if there is not a leaderboard yet (that would be blank rn)
mods will probably never add a category that no one got a run of

Honestly from my perspective, even if a "no-item" category was added with RNG being the main reason behind it, it would not be possible to avoid lightning. Most of the items you'll get in first place are bananas, and doesnt effect the run. The only things that come to mind is the first place mushroom which can happen often when lucky and the Star glitch in Koopa Troopa Beach, which is noooott thaaat baaad actually. I agree that it can be annoying to kill a run because of items rng. But lightning also kills run and probably in an even more annoying way. I think admins might consider it as an "extended category" for fun (which doesnt exist as of now if im not mistaken), but never as an official one for sure.

In the past i've seen a few posts about new category.. in pretty much all of them, it only felt like they wanted to add a category where they are good at because they're not good in the official one, like "I like playing the races backward, so i want a category where we play backward, so i might have a chance to be first place because I won't ever be able to in 150 no-skip/skip" I don't want to feel rude, but that's how I feel. In THIS specific case, it feels more legit, an enjoyable way to play, where its almost 100% driving skill without rng. So I would not oppose to it, but it would be as an extended category, even if unfortunately im confident admins will not create it hahaha !

I actually tried skips no items, but I think it's worth it only for skips because there was almost no RNG dependency and there was an opportunity to use Old Shortcut which I never used with items.
However, there is not enough material to be approved by the moderator just by telling this story.

It will take a while, but I will make a proposal again after making enough materials that the moderator will be satisfied with.

Also, only all cups skips require the no items category. No skips do not require it.

If No Items ever becomes a category, i'll run the game again.

just messaging to say I absolutely agree that there should be a 0 items category to take down the RNG as much as possible, lighting and such is still rng but it significantly lowers the amount of random factors interfering with pure player skills based runs
