We are excited to announce the Marble It Up! 2023 Superball Season!

The speedrun event of the year, Superball 2023, will be held on Saturday, February 11th. But that's not all! Starting from Nov. 5th, our community has been hosting frequent smaller events such as casual races and tournaments to have fun and get people playing the game. If anyone is interested in helping to organize and run these events, please contact the Planning Committee.

This year, qualification for the Super Ball tournament will be based on seasonal performance. That means, starting Nov. 5 until Feb 10, all participants will need to complete a qualifying speedrun with video proof, under 1 hour. A Personal Best from before Nov 5 2022 will not be sufficient to qualify.

Likewise, seeding for this year's tournament will be based on your Season's Best speedrun. While the exact format is TBA, there will be multiple divisions based on the number of players entered, with a maximum of 9 players per race. It is highly encouraged to improve your Season's Best over the course of the season in order to qualify for the highest division you can reach.

To prevent some players being placed in divisions too far below their own skill level, there will be a hard cap of PB+5 minutes as any player's qualifying time for seeding purposes. For example, a player with a 44:07 PB will be seeded as 49:07 if their Season's Best is not below 49:07. Either way, a sub-hour qualifying run is still required between Nov. 5 and Feb. 10.

One final announcement: we are also looking for creative community members who would like to help with event prizes and related projects. Please contact the Planning Committee.

Announcing the Marbling event of the year, Super Ball 2022!

Coming Saturday February 12, this year's Super Ball will be the biggest and best so far. Get ready for some action for players and fans alike.

The event will begin at 12 Noon EST - 18:00 CET - 03:00 AEST+1 with a spectacular live pre-show hosted by Glooten and Agedude, as they introduce the runners and get ready for the races. Yes, races!

At T+30 minutes, the race will begin for the first ever Super Ball Open! This race is intended for new and intermediate-level speedrunners with a qualifying personal best time of under one hour in Full Game Classic. If you have never played Full Game before, this is your opportunity to try it for yourself and aim for this very achievable goal in preparation for the event. This race will be commentated live by Agedude and Sevadra and will feature several cash prizes for participants, donated by our generous community. This includes:

Four $10 prizes for the best in-game times on specific levels. These will be revealed the day before the event. (Time Travels matter here)
Six $10 prizes for the fastest time for each chapter.
A $5 bonus for anyone who sets a new PB during the race!

Most importantly, our two top-placing Open runners will be invited to participate in the 2022 Super Ball Invitational. This exclusive event will take place at T+2:00. For a runner to be automatically qualified for this race, they must have a verified personal best under 40 minutes before the day of the race, or finish as a top-two racer in the Super Ball Open. This race will be commentated by Glooten and Agedude, and will feature many of the most difficult and amazing tricks this game has to offer!

The prizes for the Invitational are as follows:

Six $10 prizes for the fastest time on each chapter.
Four $10 prizes for the fastest in-game time on specific levels. These will be announced the day before the event. (Time Travels matter here)
A $5 bonus to anyone who PBs during the race.

You'll need to provide some information such as your speedrun.com username, your discord tag, and some fun facts about you for pre-show talking points. Only those who register through this form will be eligible to participate in the races, so please do so if you are planning on racing.

Each year we have hosted the Super Ball, it has turned out to be even more fun and beneficial for the community than we had ever imagined. I think this year's competition will be fierce and it could be our first step into occupying a space in the speedrunning esports world. We would love to see as many players as possible participate, and we look forward to showcasing them all in the best way possible in our community live stream.
