Hello, I'm L810, a new member of the speedrunning community as a whole, and I wanted to start with a mostly abandoned game that's still one of my all-time favorites. The difficult part is that you need video evidence of your speedruns, and that can be difficult to get. The easiest way to record footage of this game is through a GameCube capture card and a GameBoy player attachment to our GameCube. I don't own either of these things, so I've never tried this method, but I assume it should work. For all of us without that option and having enough dignity to not get someone else to film our GameBoy screen for the whole run, your option is an emulator. So far, I have found that the BGB emulator does the bast job in emulating this game (others can't even get past the title screen). grab a ROM of the game (sidenote, in order for that to be legal, you are required to own a legitimate copy of this game) and configure your controller settings within the emulator by right-clicking in the application, clicking options,then joypad, then you guys get the idea. Now, you've got everything running. To capture your gameplay, use a tool such as an Unregistered Hypercam 2 (lol, jk jk jk) XSplit, or OBS. I use XSplit and record my footage locally, and it works fine. Plus, you can use this simple interface to stream your runs on Twitch. Simple as that! You can also use applications such as LiveSplit to keep track of your run time. And that's it! Hopefully this will help anyone with even the littlest desire to set even a time trial record ('Cuz let's be honest, most of them are blank right now, it wouldn't be too hard to score a WR).
