It breaks my heart to see an amazing game that millions own, as well as one with great speedrunning potential, go relatively inactive. I know there are stellar individuals out there playing the in-game ranked mode and hopping through open online lobbies with beastly scores, as well as individuals participating in ranked ladders in Discord servers or other tournament scenes. I want to give this speedrun community another shot at some interconnectivity and growth, so I'm offering a cumulative bounty on the All Courses categories' world records, specifically those done with button controls. The breakdown is as follows:

$550 for All Courses No DLC World Record, Button Controls; currently 45:52 - claimed by ddeeffgg with a 45:49 on 5/4/22! $550 for All Courses DLC World Record, Button Controls; currently 1:19:28

Active from the time this post goes live until December 31st, 2022 at 11:59:59 PM PST.

To be eligible for winning either bounty: You must submit a legitimate speedrun of either category that breaks the current world record at the time of submittal. You may do a single run that beats the No DLC WR and the DLC WR in the same run, netting both bounties in one go, as long as the No DLC is a single segment (i.e., all six original courses are played in order in the run, nothing between them). This speedrun must follow all general game rules and category specific rules (found under "View Rules") and timing requirements. It is also expected that you stream progress towards these goals if you are attempting to beat them, as this greatly improves your image and also provides numerous benefits due to the hype of world record competition with a backend incentive like this bounty. Since I am offering the bounty, I don't qualify for it, but I do appreciate world record competition and reserve the right to improve my own records as individuals may come close in skill. If you want my guidance to start, the No DLC record is much more difficult to beat as it is more optimized. The DLC record still has some room to move but has some very strong courses (-25 Bowser; -23 All-Star, -25 Spiky and -26 Blustery in a row!). The best resources to use are current RTA Courses records that show the fastest completion time per course, and pair that with your own game knowledge and routing.

Addendum for potential future DLC: If we do get paid DLC in the future within the time of this bounty (all free DLC is confirmed to be released), then this bounty will specifically apply to the All Courses No DLC category and the All Courses DLC category that contains the list of the 11 courses available in the v4.0.0 version of the game.
