I am used to using the plastic texture pack by Minecraft but I am not sure if it is a requirement to use the vanilla texture pack or not. I was also wondering about shaders too, though I am guessing texture packs that allow night vision and similar things are banned right?

you are allowed to use any texture pack as long as it doesn't offer any advantage
