I'm putting the portal in the right spot in the Nether, but it sometimes sends me to a random lava pool instead of right by the end portal

Sometimes the portals generate depending on your position in this 2 by 3 frame you’ve built, so there are four positions and all of them might take you to different locations.

So two things, you have the portal placed above the two magma cubes right? like ur absolutely sure it's the right coords. Secondly, u have to stand in the middle of the nether portal and do NOT touch the wall when ur in the portal.

Yeah sometimes portals depend on where you stand INSIDE the portal itself when going between dimensions. So look at what block people stand on in runs. You will also need to stand on that block inside of the portal or else you will go somewhere else.
