If someone got the we in the most popular mode rn and got verified you know how fast that'll get rioted off? I assume the super mods arnt that stupid to accept a tlauncher run, also it isn't the exact same you guys don't know the meaning of cracked Minecraft, it won't let you play on all servers which is restricted features, and I just realised the FREE version of Minecraft in the Microsoft store can be spedran why are we having an argument when literally on the Microsoft store you can get Minecraft for free and play single player? I'm pretty sure badlion client isn't even allowed and that's allowed on hypixel (information from another thread).

Look @rewan there is no actual way to determine that a person is playing cracked MC unless they actually SHOW the bloody launcher... there really isn't anything wrong with Tlauncher other than it's pirated and likely slightly illegal (or maybe very illegal idk) but this rant is probably going to mean nothing because someone's just going to get on Tlauncher and get the WR anyway, without anyone knowing.

@xdude_gamer I'm pretty sure f3 shows it but since they can choose not to use f3 then they could easily fake their runs heck, the top two times could've made their own secret private Minecraft mod that when they create a world it has one seed inputted when no seed is shown and they have loaded a random world and memorised the details of it, it could've been done recorded and not like just because they could get exposed on stream on accident (the same seed being loaded twice in a row etc.), the video evidence isn't even enough and eventually with enough practise and extreme modifications they could fake it on stream and streaming wot be enough, this is just a theory on what you said about the mods not being able to figure out if it was tlauncher or not. maybe to counter this they have to stream or implement them running Minecraft straight from their launcher to see if they're using any forbidden mods even though there's a chance they're just lucky but its unusual how people who stream regularly have their wr recorded. (also they could just hide the mod being shown on f3 if they had used f3 but nonetheless this theory doesn't seem unlikely)

I should probably check that out... I have both (since I used Tlauncher for a little bit until I got the game recently). Also, whilst we're on the topic of mods, what mods are allowed? I think I used to use Forge, OptiFine, and Lite Loader on 1.8.9

There is a modded or modified near the version of minecraft which shows he is using a cracked launcher(My observation csn be wrong)

@xdude_gamer Optifine is allowed for Pre 1.16 and the JellySquid mods for 1.16+

@rewan and @bob_chicken if I steal someone's computer and get a world record on it, that doesn't make my record invalid. Sure, that would unethical, but that's irrelevant. The point of SRC is to list all legit speedruns so we can keep track of records and such - how the runner got access to the game is irrelevant.

TLauncher launches the same .jar file as the regular Minecraft launcher (i.e. the game is the same). Hence, runs done in it would be legit. In contrast, Badlion is not allowed as it launches a modified .jar file.

@Falsifiable its the exact same .jar file? what about the fact that you cant play on non cracked servers? and does sodium not launch a modified .jar file?

@rewan The non-cracked servers thing is not due a modification to the .jar file, it's just that it's launched without connecting the user info. TLauncher is effectively the same as launching the game in offline mode.

Sodium is a modification but it does not affect the game behavior.

TLauncher is actually used, if you steal someone’s computer and do a run on it then I will say that it is fine.

If you steal someone's computer without their knowledge then you're getting arrested for theft. So don't do that :)

I think there was this TAS of the game being beaten in 1 minute, 29.6 seconds, absolutely glitchless @rewan but it was all the perfect RNG and movements and stuff

since you guys necroed this thread, id like to take the time to tell you that if you scroll up to the second large paragraph made by me, it predicts that a certain person faked a certain thing in a certain block game a month ago, albeit a little off.

why the hell is this a question? tlauncher is technically allowed since it doesn't modify the game (to this community's knowledge) so it doesn't count as a cheat. you shouldn't pirate minecraft because it's illegal and buying the game supports the developers at mojang. christmas is in 7 days anyways. buying minecraft also gets you access to servers like hypixel, so it benefits you.
