hey guys ive been searching and tweaking stuff all day trying to figure out how to get around fov affects in 1.16.1. I truly cannot play with it enabled, i run quake pro and have forever and it literally makes me car sick after pressing the sprint key 3 times. im running sodium and cant find an option there. all i know is even in the wr 1.16.1 run fov affects are not present and i dont believe he was playing with normal fov either. also i was wondering if any speedrun timer datapacks are allowed? im using live split and i keep forgeting to start my timer haha

@JmBL to my knowledge, dynamic FOV cannot be turned off without optifine or some 3rd party mod. i did some research on JellySquid mods as those are the only mods that are allowed for 1.16+ (more specifically sodium) and unfortunately those are basically just mods to improve MC performance and don't give you any additional features. it sucks that Mojang hasn't added that feature yet, but I can recommend you turn down your FOV slightly or turn on toggle sprint in accessibility settings so your FOV barely changes.

oh and btw, you don't technically NEED a timer. if you look up SPRT (Slush Puppy Retime Tool) you can retime your run after uploading it to yt so you can analyze it frame by frame to find the exact time. livesplit timers are generally used so the runner and the viewers can see how fast this run is in real time. also i dont see why you need an autosplitter in minecraft theres only 1 split lmao.

yes, you can, no matter how many times you die, you can continue

I have this problem where when I load into the nether my times reset to zero then I click my split button and the RTA timer restarts from zero but the IGT continues from the last run. Can anyone help me fix this?

guys, I have some questions about verifying my speedrun records I submitted 3 records, and 2 of them were rejected almost the day that I uploaded but the last one is still waiting for verifying(I think this run is innocent) 5 days or sth like that if moderators? don't watch my record video or no verifiers for this run, what can I do for my run? re-submit? I need your help guys

If they were rejected, it gives a reason why it was rejected (i could imagine in your case being not putting the world seed in the description, as that is what a lot of people, especially new-commers forget). Your run can take multiple weeks to get verified in some cases if the queqe is long, so i suggest waiting it out for another week or two before resubmitting.

For the co-op category, for larger numbers like 7-10+, does every runner involved need to record and have the video linked to the run?

Also, is Minehut the only free server where I can try to do a multiplayer speedrun?

All players don't have to record, however, it is recommended that you do to make the verification easier for the moderators. Aside from minehut you can also you Aternos or host your world open to LAN.

I don't think so but hope it is a way to be in fullscreen, and SEE the livesplit. I can see mc fullscreen OR livesplit with windowed mc, is it a way to do this (yea i thought of buying 2nd monitor and I am gonna buy It soon but I hope it is a way with 1 monitor)?

Hey guys, I just have a really weird question. What if for some god RNG I create a world and it comes out as a known seed but I didn't input any seed. Does that count as set seed or random seed run? Just out of curiosity

@SuaV0 it most likely would never happen, and would definitely get declined as there are ways to fake a rsg run, even on livestream. i mean unless you were super trusted member of the community and had streamed it using a webcam pointed at your monitor, you would most likely have to reset.

if it does happen though, you should either reset or just play through the run

Is f3 allowed in any% randomeseed 1.16 speedruns. (Newest version) in the rules it says you cant look at the seed while doing the run, and f3 shows the seed. I just want to use it to remember the location of my nether portal, but i gues building a trail of blocks is fine.

I'm learning any% SSG and I'm having trouble building the second portal. I get to the nether and at the spot that the route builds the portal to warp to the dungeon in the overworld. Every time I get there I end up warping to the overworld at the surface in the woods, in front of a little cave that leads to nowhere. So my question is: Does the exact position of the nether portal matter in terms of which corners are filled in with obsidian? Do I need to manually crate a new world with the seed every time? (I've been using the 'recreate' button thus far in the few runs i've done.)

You probably built it too left or too right and misidentified the position

@Argent0fArtifice The post above is wrong, yes nether portal position matters. In the top ssg runs, you will notice that the runners stand as close to the far side of the portal when they light it up and that's how u get the portal to spawn inside the stronghold

So ur questions were asking the wrong thing, but as long as u build the nether portal in the right x and y, and do what is mentioned above, you will spawn inside the stronghold
