Higher Story Mode Difficulty Categories?
New Jersey, USA

I'm aware that the only Story Mode difficulty in the leaderboards is easy. Is it possible to include NORMAL, HARD, and INTENSE difficulty categories? (Though i'd probably only attempt Normal).

I think Frightmare only goes up until Hard.

Correct, Frightmare only goes up to Hard difficulty. Also, changing the difficulty for story mode just makes the run longer by giving the Koopa Kids more coins to start in each dream; essentially it makes the run longer arbitrarily. And the Intense difficulty just does the same thing, it's just more of a NG+ kind of situation because it only becomes available after completing the story on hard mode. However I can add that as a misc. category if you would like. Let me know if you have any more questions!

wait what? can you give more details?

I have not seen such a difference between easy and hard difficulty.

@Unsupervised, The Koopa Kids actually don't get more coins with higher Story Mode difficulty. It just means the K. Kids will be tougher to beat. EVeryone starts with 20 coins on every board regardless of difficulty.

Oh shit yeah, just checked that. It's been a while since I touched the game, however the same principle applies to making the speedrun longer for essentially no reason.

Story Mode on hard is complete shit. I once attempted it as a meme and got bodied in most minigames requiring mashing (especially Pump'n'Jump). Good luck :p

jesus fucking christ that's high. i've recently started mashing with two fingers instead of one, so hopefully i'll get better results.

btw it seems like Japanese version (that thechicken used in his run) is slightly faster on textboxes before fading into a map. Maybe you can get a free minute save by using it.
