Ok @Liv thank you for your response. Admittedly, myself and the other mods overreacted and apologize for wasting your time. We were worried that for some reason the game was basically being taken over without any valid reason. After discussing this with the SM64 rom hack series mods, I now see we were wrong. There is a mutual understanding between all of us now, and we reached the same conclusion that you stated.
Also, we understand that they are "Secondary Rom-Hack Series" Mods, however given they have had 0 interaction with us and have had 0 to do with the game, we see no reason for them to suddenly moderate the game.
No offense to you LPhantom, but even if there was a need for another mod (which there is not), we would go with somebody who has been with the community already for a while, has proven themselves responsible and mature enough to handle it, and has shown that they can be active in the community. You've barely been on the site a month, and have not submitted a single minecraft speedrun. Just in general - never just ask to become a mod unless there is a very good reason for doing so.
That is good to know, however I do not expect it to be useful unfortunately. I will look into it tonight though, just in case.
if he wished to submit it, then fine, but otherwise there's no reason to post this here. that being said dumpdome, be nice to people
If you want to ask people to join you in a speedrun, do that in the discord please just to keep these forums organized.
congrats, however this forum is more for asking questions and less for casual discussion. If you want to discuss your progress though, feel free to join the discord!
Additionally, if you want more info on TY speedrunning, feel free to join the discord and ask any questions you have there!
sorry for the late reply on this! PS2 I believe was added as a console due to playing the game on PS2 saving load time from my understanding. Regardless, it seems that whatever change was made is fine.
that's an extremely arbitrary category and as such will not be added. As a reminder though, just because something is not a category on this site does not mean you cant run it, so if you enjoy racing that with your friends, then by all means continue doing so.
Sorry for the late reply! Yes, just select PC as your console
Personally, I believe this can be allowed. While hypno specifically stated that it is unlike Banjo-Kazooie's FFM glitch (Which for those who do not know uses another file to perform a glitch, one set up before the run), I for one do see similarities. I do see an argument made both for and against this being allowed, but to me the precedent set by games such as BK is that having another file set-up to allow a glitch to occur is valid. Either way, it's still quite an interesting find!
Here's my opinion - First off the category shouldn't exist in the first place. When I did my run and it held as WR for a while, I did it with the purpose of showing people why you need to think about how a category would work before making it. Test for the best requires no skill (In fact, its faster to get almost exclusively zeroes!) However, to answer the question, I'd say keep timing as it is. It's not like RNG is an unheard of thing in Mario party speedruns in the first place.
by the way, I routed 100% a while ago, and tried to run it a few times. However, running on the PS2 version coupled with my disc being bad means my game crashes a lot. Does anyone know of a way for me to get the pc version, as I've been trying to get it so I can finally do a 100% run (as well as any%)
It's more widely known as SM64O however, and as such the name will stay as that.
Alright, I just did it a second time, on video. It wont save time for any% at all, but I think it can save ten seconds if done first try in all levels
We've said multiple times - somebody do a run, show us a finished run, then we will add it.
a cheat code category is pointless, as it doesn't change the route at all and would only save maybe 30 seconds, if that.
