You can tell if you watch for example, i_o_l's run vs. for exanple, Arcus's run. The only difference is in 8-2 (and Arcus having a better 8-4 by 3 frames)

somewhere in settings, there is a "palette" option. FCEUX should had some palettes already installed in it, and you can download or make your own online.

It saves time. It only works 50% of the time, so why would people throw away like 50% of runs trying to show off?

That isn't a good way to tell if it's unmodified, I've done FPG on many ROM hacks.

You got the bad judges beetle, but the bad judges beetle is only actual bad judges 50%, but the enemies are still the bad judges ones.

It's only 50% for the one saying you have bad judges. For the good judges pixel, it's 100% accurate, but for the one saying bad judges, it's 50%.

I want a 457, then I'll either grind for a better 8-4 or add a FPG, get a 457.34 or better, then go for a 456.

Actually, if you tied 8-4 IL record, with fast 4-2, you would get a 457.676.

I don't really know, other than your computer being slow? Nestopia seems to be the one that runs BEST for most people. BizHawk and FCEUX gave me really weird lag spikes.

In the emulator, there is a way to add custom palettes. My runs are all done on the Nestopia Mame palette, which can be selected within FCEUX if you choose.

Nestopia also runs better for many, along with what @Tecate said.

Someone who wants to cheat, can easily make their own input file, and make it look realistic. I could make a 455 TAS, and and make it look (on an input level) like a human, complete with up+right and controller errors like that.

When I'm doing the extra thing in Nestopia+OBS recording, my framerate (in game drops to like 57fps, back up to full and just stutters like crazy. Makes precise frame perfect inputs almost impossible to do consistently.

I feel as though, for Nestopia at least, recording full game window with an external input display of sorts (like Roy), should be enough, as the emulator itself has no TASing capabilities.
