At the start of the room, the 4th slot machine cycle is a triple 7. In runs I would always try to catch this cycle by waiting for the right moment (had the timing pretty much internalized), then mashing. Your first hit can even be one cycle earlier, since that cycle has a 7 in the leftmost column. As a backup, if you don't hit the right row, but get a perfect mash (such that you didn't desync the columns), you can try for that triple 7 row again. I never had any strategies besides this and winging it, although if you're aiming for WR, you'll probably reset after missing once, anyway.
Since Ghost has been banned from the website for cheating, I've removed the run from the boards.
I find it rather awkward to have to be running one version for some categories, and a different, now outdated version for others. I'm all for any solution that involves not mixing the two versions in the same leaderboard.
Thanks for the report! It is rather tricky to verify things in these games, unfortunately, since recording is not so simple.
Watching this run http://www.speedrun.com/run/dy40q43z it seems that the in-game timer doesn't line up with the YouTube timer - unless that's just an encoding issue.
Unfortunately, we don't really have a way to do that. People use AutoHotkey for that purpose.
There's the Mikey series, along with quite a few other (mediocre) games with (individual level) in-game timers.
This is on an older versio where golden cookie appearances worked differently.
After watching the recent 3:10 WR (http://www.speedrun.com/run/0zno5oly) I noticed that in level 12, the snowball was moving a lot faster for Sly than it was for me. So I tested, did a couple of runs, and I was always losing at least 5 seconds to him on level 12. I'm not just saying this because I want my world record back - his run is very good, definitely better than mine was. However, it does seem that some phones may have a disadvantage compared to others. It might be something to do with whether you're on Android or iOS, but not necessarily, although flight's iPhone, my iPhone and the iPhones I found in different videos on the internet have a slower level 12 than in Sly's video and the 2 Android phones I tested personally. For now, flight and I have decided to leave everything as it is, but in the future, should the 2 versions be seperate, or should they stay in the same leaderboard? Opinions?
I think the fastest completion of a game with no restrictions (besides alt glitch, but it's similar to cartridge tilting) should be one of the main categories in any game, but I'm sure many would disagree, at least in the case of meat boy.
would being able to jump higher even be of very much use anywhere?
