Once we get an Arcade Mode Leaderboard ill totally run this game. Does Tekken series usually use In-Game Time or Real Time?

Depends on the game itself, Arcade has its own timer. The Mishima story mode requires RTA.

Hey guys,

As of right now, I haven't added any Arcade Mode boards due to the high number of variables that would split the boards apart (character, round number, difficulty, facing Akuma or Kazumi). Arcade Mode isn't like Time Attack Mode in previous games, if I added it as a viable run then the boards would be so split that it would be a trial to even find a combination of settings that had been ran by someone else.

I understand that some people are interested in Arcade Mode runs and I was one of them, personally I'm disappointed in Namco for getting rid of Time Attack Mode as the online leaderboards that were in T6/TTT2 are considerably better at keeping track of runs than this site would ever be. It's a shame, but I feel like adding Arcade Mode runs to this board would just inflate the number of categories to an absurd level and would allow people to post a random time and get a free WR (Lucky Chloe, Very Hard, 4 Rounds) and that idea is off-putting to me. I could enforce specific rules saying that every game setting for Arcade Mode has to be at default, but that would be arbitrary and then someone would complain that they can't do a run 'the way they want to', which has happened before to me. I can't make an Arcade Mode All Characters category either, as you don't unlock anything for doing that and the DLC characters coming in future would mess that up even further.

If someone can give me solid reasoning behind why there should be Arcade Mode boards or there's enough support for it then I'll add them, but to me it would just be a clusterfuck and the actual single fastest time would probably be by some Korean or Japanese player who never even knew this site existed to submit it anyway.

Understandable, Arcade mode should be put on hold until everything is settled.

I see your point and I agree that a lot of subcategories is off-putting. However, I think not having Arcade mode at all is also a bit off-putting. My preference would be to have a single undivided Arcade category with minimal rules defining the start and end of the run. Then people can decided to run it however they want.

I mean to be fair there are already a lot of sub categories for Story (and likely will have 1 or no runners in most categories for a long time). And a game like MKX has way more people running Arcade than Story. I think the Mod(s) should decide on a set rules for people to follow and leave it at that. Most likely default rules as best option. Obviously this is just my opinion but to me a fighting game deserves an Arcade Mode Speedrun.

Figured out the Kazumi or Akuma Arcade trial. In order to get Akuma the player should not lose a round or match along with hitting continue when defeated. So they go in two different categories as Kazumi (Default Arcade) and Akuma (No Round Lost). There is also Jin that appears but only if you the player gets 1st hit and perfect victories in Arcade. Hope this helps

Seems even more of a reason to have Arcade Runs...

Hi all! I would love to see a viable Arcade mode speedrun leaderboard too. This post is more to show support for that, but I did want to share a few thoughts.

I personally think having a large variety of categories will provide a larger following from having multiple choices before even starting a run. Do I want to try easy w/ one round to see how quickly I can blaze through? Or maybe I'm streaming and I'm rewarding my fan base with a grueling 4 rounder on the hardest difficulty. Each will likely have different runners and audiences.

Allowing character as a run category will also engender a reason to play someone other than the "fastest" character. I would personally learn multiple runs simply because I love so many members of the cast! Character choices add to the variety: totally different moves, costumes/flair, and AI manipulation are just the tip of the iceberg.

If I can offer help with facilitating in any way, please let me know!
