I’m a PS4 player, submitted my ran for a week but leaderboard was never show my name on it……can any one tell me what I can do? Sorry for my poor English:(

Same with me but you need to be patient. When you submit a run it says it could take 1-3 weeks to be verified.

DIABLERIE 그리고 SunnySunsunsun 이것을 좋아함

Especially this early on. Submit knowing it will take 3 weeks. Anything less will be a bonus.

Okay, I’ll be Patient for it thanks guys:)

Yea, the verification queue is very large and these runs are between 1.5-2+hrs long. It takes a while. At this moment, there's 175 runs in the queue, to give you an idea of why it takes so long. That's a minimal estimate of 300hrs of footage to watch. This combined with the fact that all the mods are (unpaid) volunteers who have their own lives/jobs to worry about as well are why it can take a while to get to runs.

Thank you for understanding @SunnySunsunsun :) Some people aren't as nice about it

There's only been 5 runs verified in the last week, and 4 of them were WR's in their category, the other was a 10th place time done by a mod that was done 2 days ago and verified on the same day.

That said, I have volunteered to become a mod, hopefully I can help to speed things up.

That is untrue. The front page of SRC only tends to show the more recently submitted runs, and not the ones that were submitted a week ago, a whole slew of which were verified even just yesterday

@ThePatient There's been verified/rejected 36 runs the past 48 hours, feel like that's a decent chunk when u think about how long it takes to verify just 1 run. WR runs and mods runs are usually on stream, usually another mod is watching, so it's faster to get those runs out of the way since it's the same run they already watched live, hence it can be spotchecked to make sure it's not done some trickery with, this also helps clean out the queue of too many runs.

If you think we're not doing ours to get through the queue as fast as possible in our free time outside of our full time jobs, families and such. You are thoroughly mistaken.

If youre going by notifications it only shows WRs and maybe top 3s as well? Some games do.

So I'm the mod who got his run verified literally the day I submitted. Why, you ask, because another mod was in my chat literally the whole time I streamed and was able to verify the moment I submitted it. Hopefully, this clarifies your point whether or not this was "fuckery".

I understand your possible frustration at not seeing your times being posted on the leaderboards, I get it, but being the 3rd most popular game on SRC at the moment, it's a popular category and all the mods are veteran runners. Verifying the run isn't just "oh that time looks about right lets click yes", we scrutinize every little detail including frames, audio, and whatnot to make sure people aren't cheating. I verified 10+ runs the other night (each is what, 1.5-2hours long) when I have a full time job. While I do appreciate you volunteering to be a mod, please understand that we are trying to keep things uniform on top of not only being rule-abiding as well as analytical on every submission. Even if a couple frames on missing on one part, we will discuss it with each other to make sure that nobody is cheated out of a proper ranking on SRC.

We are NOT attacking you, nor are you showing signs of favoritism. We are doing what is most efficient. The WRs that are being verified are usually run by the top streamers with the most viewers so naturally in our "off" time, we're usually watching them achieve it so we can immediately verify that their time is legitimate. LEt me know if you have any questions understanding this.

That being said, if you urgently need your time to be shown on a website for professional or personal preferences, you can message us directly with questions instead of making a forum post about it. My DMs are open, just hit me up.

It is somewhat common in Speedrun communities to get a run submitted and verified on the same day cause the mods watch the stream, I had a run verified in an hour because the mod was watching me play as I did it too. The game has seen quite a bit of trafic, it's normal that it takes a while, just wait a bit

I posted my speedrun on June 20 and when I answer you, it is June 26, you just have to wait, there are not far from a hundred runs in expectation since the categories are out there is everything just a month, many have a job, a family, passions. They do this in their spare time. It's already nice of them to check our runs so can't we just thank them by letting them do it?

My gripe is not so much with the time it takes to verify runs, but more so with the fact that despite there being hundreds of hours of a backlog in reviewing footage, mods are outright refusing any assistance in clearing that backlog. This makes it seem like the people verifying runs are an uninclusive lot who don't really represent the community of speedrunners, but a more tight-knit circle of friends who don't want any outside influence in handling the verification of runs. Why wouldn't you accept more help in verifying runs?

It makes sense that popular streamers and mods would receive verification ahead of the submission queue, I can get that, but the fact that multiple runs from these types of people have received verification more than a week ahead of people who have submitted up to more than a week prior, and when someone who comes along and offers help is outright refused, with quote: "Nah, we’ll get more mods on board if we want to" and "We're doing fine. Thank you for the offer though." it doesn't seem that you have the community's best interests in mind. Threads like this show you're not "doing fine" and that more manpower is needed in order to keep the leaderboards up to date, outside of streaming mods and spicee.

I will admit though, I was mistaken in underestimating the effort you were putting in, as I mistakenly thought the dates on the leaderboards were verification dates rather than submission dates. I really am sorry for insinuating a lack of effort on your part, but isn't it evident that the current moderation team isn't large enough to handle the popularity of the game? And that just maybe a larger team is needed?

@ThePatient You do realize that being a moderator/verifier comes with a level of trust and professionalism right? People aren't picked for the job based on popularity, or what not. I was a nobody (let's face it still am but what ever lol) when I was picked to become a verifier for RE2R.

As for the size of the team, look at how many they have. It sucks to have to wait a while to have your run verified, but that is the case with a popular game. I waited 9 days for a run, but I didn't complain. You have to learn to have patience, a lot of y'all need to learn it because threads like this probe nothing really other then people don't like to wait.

A thread like this doesn't show anything about the community's interests btw, people seem to think because a few people complain that EVERYONE agrees.

If your livelihood depends on your time showing up on SRC, please let me know and I'll push your time ahead of queue. I wouldn't want your family to live off potatoes and cabbage b/c I couldn't verify your run.

@ThePatient "My gripe is not so much with the time it takes to verify runs, but more so with the fact that despite there being hundreds of hours of a backlog in reviewing footage, mods are outright refusing any assistance in clearing that backlog"

Just because we refused 1 person, doesn't mean we refuse everyone. We've added more mods since the release of the game like Waldo and Claire. You came in immediatly and started attacking us both in the forums here and in the discord and wouldn't listen to any evidence i came up that disproved your theories, hence why we didn't think u would make a great fit for the moderation team.

"It makes sense that popular streamers and mods would receive verification ahead of the submission queue"

Again for like the 5th time now, this is not the case, it's because we've been in peoples streams when they got the run done. For example i've done the same for Peralt, Nyiddle, ZGL. None of which are mods nor big streamers, but dont care about that, do you?

"it doesn't seem that you have the community's best interests in mind"

We are litterally spending hours upon hours of our free time outside of full time jobs to verify runs, mod the discord and make sure people are getting the help they need, idk why you think this is at all the case. If we didn't have the comunities best interest in mind, we wouldn't be here. Im not getting a paycheck for this, ya' know?

"but isn't it evident that the current moderation team isn't large enough to handle the popularity of the game? And that just maybe a larger team is needed?"

Not at all, it's evident that the game is insanely popular tho, and this will die down in a couple of weeks once people who arent gonna run the game for a long period of time leave the game, it's very natural for a new popular game to have "long" queue times.

Lastly, the person who made this post didn't even complain about waiting, they were just wondering and took our answer very well. For some reason, you seem to be the only one who has a major issue, kindda weird.

Thanks for breaking my post down sentence-by-sentence and taking them out of context. Real petty.

The truth is there's a huge backlog, and the current mod team is more than a week behind.

My experience with attempting to volunteer has been met with multiple outright "Nope, we're good" and nothing about that makes me believe that you're considering anyone that one of you do not have a personal connection with. You play the "We're taking our free time to do this stuff outside of all the other stuff we have in our lives" but then you're refusing help from people who are willing to do the same, I don't know what kind of protection from criticism you're expecting that to grant you. There's no difference between us in that regard, except that maybe you got here early enough or had some sort of connection to the person that first set up the game on this site.

But you pull the "we're doing it out on our own time" card and just accept the backlog instead of bringing on people to help clear it, as though you're doing something that no one else is willing to do.

Phoenix, AZ, USA

They haven't taken anything you've said out of context and your outlash both publicly in the discord and on here attacking them when they're solely trying to help everyone is getting no where. You're fine to have and voice your own opinion on this however understand the entire verification team is working as much as they can to get through submitted runs every day.

In addition, remember that they aren't just going to let any random person assist in verifying as a lot of trust/maturity is needed for that role even if its temporary. If they truly needed help verifying they have people who are reliable to assist. What Nico said is absolutely right; for right now the game is in a peak bc of its popularity and that will die down in 2-3 more weeks.

SRDC allowed 2-3 weeks for runs to be verified as it is and typically runs are being verified within a week and a half and that's with the massive input of submissions they're getting. Everyone on that team has a life and you need to understand that they cannot dedicate every moment of their life to verifying runs.

Let them have their peace and do their jobs without unnecessary and irrational criticism.

OhLyon you're wrong.

I need to be verifying these runs otherwise we are on the cusp of a war breaking out. I need be making sure that everyone has a run verified in the same day it's submitted so that they're able to contribute to society in a helpful manner. By making the runners worry for over 1-2 weeks, this is how the system fails b/c im making them worry.

This oversight is a failure on my part - I have submitted my resignation of the ISRC (International Speedrun Committee) in hopes that my resignation that bring peace in this dark time. May God help us all.

Phoenix, AZ, USA

Kamu you're absolutely right, I apologize.

You should be sacrificing your entire life to verify these runs and nothing but the utmost dedication is necessary from you at this time. Due to this oversight, there are many families starving unable to live day by day. However accepting that you're the cause of the problem is the first step to getting better. The next step is to hand deliver these verifications and denials at a speed only Sonic could reach and provide them potatoes so they no longer have to wonder if they'll starve without answers.

Your resignation will be seen and accepted, but the wars will not be stopped in this dark time. God cannot help you, he has already abandoned you.
