Hello. I'm just getting into speedrunning and I was wondering if the rules allowed for using a console box like the Retrofreak to run the game. It's emulated and upscaled, but I can't really say much more than that. It's just my preferred way of playing though, since I don't have to run things through converters all over the place.

I believe the retrofreak uses VBA-M for game boy emulation; If that's the case, then it would be disallowed, as VBA-M is not allowed.

The game boy has some very accurate emulators, and as such, the less accurate ones are pretty much banned outright. So while I am not a mod, I wouldn't expect that to be allowed, as only gambatte, bgb, and bizhawk running the gambatte core are allowed for kdl.

I figured, I thought I would ask though just cause it's really nice to play on my TV and run it through my capture box. I really had no idea which core it used, so asking here seemed the best option. Thank you!
