Wondering if you are allowed to speed run this on an emulator and if there are any restrictions on certain ones.

I wonder why you asking, there are a lot of runs at the leaderboards made on emulator, tagged with [Emu] at "Platform" column. I would recommend Nestopia 1.40 or last version of FCEUX as emulator to play. As regards the rules, most common ones are applicable. Like, you need proper game rom to play, usually marked as [!], no cheating, no turbo buttons, no simultaneous left+right or up+down presses. Thank you for your response. I am new to this and thought it would be a fun thing to get into. I didn't notice the EMU by the runs probably because I was using my phone.

Thank you Endy. I just picked up a cheap controller and thought about playing it because I used to years ago when I still had my NES. It is fun and quick.
