I moved this guide to the Guides page. I also made several updates, corrections, and additions; I feel that the new version is accurate and complete enough that I will likely not update it without receiving some feedback. Therefore, I will leave this thread open so people can give feedback if they have any.

I made a spreadsheet of the more useful cars in the game. On the second page is an upgrade calculator and comparison tool you can use by selecting cars and upgrades from the dropdowns. Access it with the link below:

Why can I not get almost anything to work? I need to update both a forum post and a rules page.

[pre] 4 spaces to the left[/pre] : in the forum this outputs "[pre] 4 spaces to the left[/pre]" (the tags included!), but on the rules page it outputs "[pre] 4 spaces to the left[/pre]" with all the extra spaces removed

[ol][/ol][ul][/ul][il][/il] : I can't get these tags to work anywhere, but I can mostly work around it

(double underscore)underlined text(double underscore) : underlines text in the rules page, but bolds text in a forum post

(center tag)Center Text(/center tag) : center tag works in a forum post, but not the rules page.

(three or four hypens) : does not make a horizontal line on a rules page or forum post

Honestly if I could get the pre tag to work, then everything else would be workable. I feel like SR.C's implementation of BBcode is about 5% and the shortcut markdown is about 50%. I have also failed to get any raw HTML to work (which I don't think is officially supported, but would have been a nice workaround).

Thread: Turning Sideways

In a lot of runs I see the player turning the pod sideways very frequently. It's not a strategy that I ever considered before. What all does it accomplish in a speedrun?

Thread: Question about part damage

Started by: DespatcheDespatche

I have found that as long as I don't crash (or take enough damage to need repairing in race) more than twice in a race, with all 4 pit droids, I will never take damage after a race, even with a fully upgraded pod. Also keep in mind that each pit droid prevents damage to one part, and stock parts can't take damage. So if you have 4 droids and only 4 upgraded parts, you will never take damage.

The DC version also only allows 3 characters for a save file. The only other difference I recall is that I feel like the draw distance is longer on DC than PC, even with the PC draw distance being set to 3, but I have not confirmed this yet.

Regarding boost starts, by default the PC version maps thrust to ENTER. If you remove that mapping you can then use ENTER to skip cinematics and still get the boost start.
