If someone were to run the PS2 version of this game on a reverse compatible PS3 would that be okay for this game? The consoles listed are PS2 and PS3, and if there was a run with that PS3 would it have to marked as PS2 or PS3?
Ever since the shit that happened with KH1-J it's bugged me that this game didn't have PS3 runs separated from the PS2 runs. I do get that there's maybe like 5 runs on PS3, and that PS3 from what I remember is slower than PS2 with loads because 1.5, but inconsistencies like that bug me the most.
I'm not in any way trying to bring back up the KH1-J PS3 shit that happened back by posting this I was just curious, and made a throwaway account because I don't want any shade thrown my way for posting this because I haven't been involved in any drama any speedrunners have had even though I have opinions on some things.

P.S. Please do not assume that this is DJSaltyNutz posting this just because backwards compatible PS3's were brought up. I hate that I feel I need to stay that, but I don't want any potential shade thrown his way either. If need be I can provide proof, but I'd rather not.
Would be hard to say, tbh. As far as I know, there hasnt been any testing dont with Re:CoM on a BC PS3. I'll let the other leaderboard mods know though so we can try to get a recording of it and see how much of a difference it makes.
To provide a little context, we were actually going to separate Re:CoM and Re:CoM HD at one point. I believe it got put on hold due to insufficient test data regarding loads, but I'm not sure. We'd of course be happy to revisit separating the two, at which point we could open a discussion about allowing BC PS3s on Re:CoM. But I think to err on the safe side currently we would have to disallow BC PS3s for Re:CoM until we can get some hard data, like Rebel said.

I don't plan on running Re:CoM, let alone on a BC PS3 (Which I don't even have) any time soon, I just thought this should be addressed with the recent stuff that happened. Keep up the good work guys, I know it's not easy to make decisions like that.
