To those of you who have come across this game and are interested at all in playing, welcome!
This game is great to speedrun for a few reasons:
- New Challenge Stages 100% is a shorter speedrun, but precise. Great for races.
- There are many techniques you can use in the challenge stages. Some are quicker but more difficult in consistency, while others are shorter but safer. This can allow for a variety of times and new techniques.
- The six classic Kirby games are easy to swap between, thus allowing for easy speedrun marathons of Kirby games.
As of this message, I have posted (or am about to post) the first noted speedrun of New Challenge Stages 100%. It's a very sloppy run, but can be looked at to find some good techniques for playing. The record in the run is 1:02:36. Sub 1:00:00 is definitely possible, as is sub 50:00 without a perfect run. I have yet to test how plausible sub 45:00 would be after a perfect run, but I am almost certain it is possible.
Feel free to try your hand at different ways to run this game. Good luck!
Do you think you could add like... an any% category for the challenges? Only beat everylevel no matter your score... or "get gold trophy" "get silver trophy" etc thanks for reading !
Most certainly, Gabgab. Because the game has a credit roll, an any% run would likely involve running the levels like the levels of other Kirby games to make it to the credit roll. Aside from that, an All Gold Medal% run sounds like another reasonable run, being in between any% not needing every medal and 100% requiring perfection on every medal.
Edit: Just saw your All Challenges% run. Good work! With that, I imagine 3 categories specific to the Challenges stages would be 100%, All Challenges %, and Any%.
