I'm new to this website and this forum. I have been playing the Any% category for this game for a while now.

I've recently created a profile here because I've started recording some speedruns. However, I never realized I was using the PAL rom on my NTSC NES. I was streaming on twitch and highlighted my PBs for submission.

Thankfully I was informed through my submissions because I mistakenly thought I was playing at world record pace lol. Anyway, it's a bit embarrassing all of this, and I felt so bad about my happy outburst on my ''PB'' I deleted the highlights on my Twitch but my runs got verified and adjusted for framerate! So now the links are broken and I feel even worse about all of this.

I apologize sincerely for all the confusion and trouble I've created. Since my account is still very new (I'm mainly a Mega Man speedrunner so haven't been using this website for any submissions previously) I'm not able to send messages directly so I decided to just create a forum post because all of this feels really bad. I feel so foolish for never noticing.

Anyway, I recplaced the PAL rom with a USA rom and ya, it's a world of difference. Back to the drawing board.

I hope to submit a new run soon, because I want to play the proper way. Again my apologies for being so quick to delete my highlights because I felt so bad about the whole thing, because the runs did get verified but, of course, properly adjusted. But now they are probably gone because I linked to those highlights on my Twitch.

There was nothing wrong with your choice in release as both are accepted for submission (you just may think your time is slightly better than it is). Note a WR can not be submitted from an emulated run regardless of region. Just wait for your verified times to show before you take action like deletion. Instead, just edit the time you clam in the title/description of the video to match the time verified by the speedrun.com moderator to avoid misleading viewer that may find your clips. Also, don't worry about the video, as once you're good at the route, a sub 50sec run happens every practice session... so you'll have some good footage again in no time. Happy Grinding!

I will look into acquiring the original game. It looks like chasing WR is a bit ambitious for now, but I’ll certainly keep chipping away at my time. I appreciate the pointers.
