im pretty sure xbox just has faster loads by a bunch but dolphin is the best emulator for this because last i tried to play on the ps2 one, the game would crash on the 3 stage or so. but if you decide to run on dolphin, just make sure you mark your runs as emu
i think it has to do with memory stuff from in games which makes auto igt or loadless easy with pc games but i dont think it would be easy with console games but i think its possible. just a bit of coding and other black magic i dont know how to do ¯_(ツ)_/¯
i think you should be able to do it how you want to with subcategories or something that state if youre doing NG or NG+ personally
even if you do use emu, youre at an extreme disadvantage. and if the xbox emu works with dx id still assume the answer would be no because it probably isnt very accurate, same with the ps2 emu.
tl;dr - probably not allowed but its emu runs are there because no one who runs on it is trying to get wr or even a top time
just do a restrictive 80 start run. its pretty much the game without a couple of tricks lol
can my name be changed to nes (all lowercase) please? thanks!
sorry i was debating if they should be verified because its not its own highlight but theyre all verified now
That's like saying using the golden tanooki in SM3DL or NSMB2 makes it less of a run. It applies the same here. Take Okami for instance, NG+ is a lot better of a run than Any% New Game because it progresses a lot better and you can skip cutscenes. Plus, Any% New Game is just really boring because you don't have any of the items and in terms of cutscenes, you can skip the first few that occur before gameplay. It is 6 and 1/4th % of the run, which is a lot since you're just a wolf running around collecting things. Adding onto that, it makes it a pain in the ass to reset runs since the cutscenes equal to 15 minutes. This applies to this as well. Just because Okami isn't FFXV, that doesn't mean that the same thing applies. There probably some parts in the run that go way faster or are skipped completely in NG+, making the run more enjoyable than Any%. And for your last part, I wouldn't say grief, because he is right. It is unarbitrary and its perfectly valid, even as a misc. category. And it isn't grief to everyone else because there was more insight as to the other side of the argument here.
you should make Any% and 100% subcategories for classic titles (100% for sk Kappa)
honestly, i prefer to run no blocks but stages like 1-2 would become really hard and it would be more beginner friendly with blocks
i would say boost blocks are fine but thats probably not everyone
Ah i see, well im gonna do rins of it even if its not on the board and ill get a not shit any% time too
im dumb i was thinking about the secret exits but what i mean with warpless is just going through the game and not skipping mandatory worlds and stuff so like you can go 1, 2, 3/4, 5, 6, 7, 8 doing those castles but any exits that dont skip the castles
Really, the only categories I'd run for this game would be Any%, NSE, and a warpless like category like NSMB2 Warpless (aka no major skips or something) but i'd like to see NSE up there since its a cool category
mirror mode subcategory? also wiimote and balance board seperation
can you record full runs? if not i'd recommend getting an easycap and streaming
