To patch the .ips file to the smb1 rom - https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/ This must be the original Super Mario Bros. rom, not the Duck Hunt one nor the FDS version. An alternative is to download and use LunarIPS - http://www.romhacking.net/utilities/240
To add pellson to the patched romhack - https://3.creep.io/smb1/practiserom/ Put in the rom file that was given to you from the site above by putting in the original SMB1 rom and the Super Savage Bros Patch. It will give you a practice rom version for 2-4 IL as well as other level practice.
