I'm not 100% sure where the beginning and the end are, are there only 2 boards? or are there more you can unlock?

you can play either board. the ending is the same.

There is already a board for the GBA edition of this game.

SO. I figured out how this game works and how to actually get the game to end consistently. The game just has a weird way of selecting what the requirement is to win the board.

If you go to the game options, and select either the Full Game, Lap Count, Round Count, or Friend requirement, you can choose which one is required by pressing A on the requirement you wish to select. These are not the overall settings for the game, but are game mode options. So you can, for example like I did in this run, select the requirement to win being recruiting one friend, and then start the game. The way the game ends entirely depends on the option you pick.

Good news though, this does mean that there could be more interesting categories for this game, like there could be a 3 lap game category, Round Count game, etc.
