Battle for Bikini Bottom General Rules

Starting State

Utilization of pre-run preparations (boot physics, combo storage, hans disabled state, save glitch) is prohibited until after the timer has started unless otherwise specified. Other save files cannot be prepared for use within the run before the timer starts.

Action replay codes are banned. In-game codes are banned unless otherwise specified.

Video and Audio

Acceptable video proof with game audio is required for all submissions with times under the Video and Audio Proof Threshold. Acceptable capture card footage is required for all submissions under the Capture Card Threshold, thereby meaning emulation is banned beyond this point as well. Some categories may require acceptable video, audio and capture card proof for all submissions.

Moderators may request additional proof for submissions such as hand cams and input displays before verifying or rejecting.

Hardware and Emulation

Dolphin is the only legal emulator. Dolphin submissions must accurately emulate the GameCube version (frame rate, loading times, original textures and mechanics) to be verified. Dolphin users are prohibited from utilizing lag abuse strategies.

All non-emulated submissions must be played on an official BfBB disc or original Xbox HDD. HDD loading on consoles other than the original Xbox is prohibited. Loading times must not be faster than possible on an OEM setup for both disc and HDD users. HDD users may force 480p.

Console hardware manipulation (PS2 disc eject) is banned.

Game file modifications of any kind are strictly prohibited.

Gamepad Modifications and Adapters

Macro modifications for controllers are banned. Aesthetic controller mods, carving the controller shell, removing functionality (ex: rumble), replacing OEM controller parts, and adapters allowing unofficial controllers without console modification are allowed.
