Okay so I don't have the equipment to put a timer on a stream so is it okay if I use my phone for a timer and at the end of a run I can just say the time?
A timer is for convenience only, it’s not required as long as you can accurately get the time another way (timer not on screen, frame counting, etc). There might be random games that require one, but it’s probably not many.
When you say " I don't have the equipment to put a timer on a stream" I just wanted to add that OBS and Livesplit are both free software, so you should be able to add a timer if you did wish to, without the need for extra equipment. :)
