I just submitted a run the other day that was rejected due to the use of a "savestate" which I didn't think I was using. This is also the first time I've submitted a run using Bizhawk.
I was told to use the "Reset" function next time. Does that mean a soft reset or a hard reset? I want to make sure the next time I do submit a Power Blade run or any games using Bizhawk I'll know what to do and not to do.
Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. I plan to get started after AGDQ ends.
Next year, I plan to start learning to speedrun the arcade version that's on the Capcom Beat-em up Bundle. I've played all five characters, but I feel more inclined for melee fighters since there are hardly any runs with them aside from Elf and Wizard.
From what I've heard, Dwarf is bad, so it's either Fighter or Cleric. I did learn that Cleric has the fastest recovering time from guarding attacks and has probably the second-best magic. The fighter is probably better for fighting rather than magic mega crush. Any suggestions would help.
Okay, thanks, everyone. When I took over as a mod for Final Fight Guy, there were no category rules and such, but I may need to consider adding them for better clarification.
I have a runner by the name of Cybergeddon who submitted two runs for Final Fight Guy. He's using a Super Famicom and a Chinese Everdrive.
I know Everdrive is used to store multiple games to play certain systems, but I'm not sure if Everdrives are used for speedrun submissions.
Any clarification would help.
Good news! The category was set for Timer asc. which made the longest time WR. It's now fixed and your run is now 2nd place. My apologies again.
I'm still trying to get it fixed, but it looks like the WR history is broken, it might be something I can't do until the site fixes it. I know for the fact your run is currently in second place JSR_, so don't worry and have patience until then. Also, keep at it on the runs, you'll get that time down, I'm sure of it! :)
I just learned that a run I verified the other day all of the sudden got first place, which isn't.
The time was around 3-hours and it was nowhere near the current WR of 54 minutes.
I need some help with changing placements on the leaderboard as I never had to deal with this before.
That's weird... I'll check it out and get it fixed. My apologies.
Is there any difference between the U.S and JP versions?
I kind of noticed the fact that at mission 6 when you use a mega crash to bypass the first electric barrier I don't have enough IF's for the second one. For some reason, Capcom only put out the JP ROM for the Capcom Arcade Stadium and no ENG ROM.
I have succeeded in doing it in the past, but I wasn't able to do it again.
Also, is there any info on the game's weapons if they're stronger or weaker between the two? Any info would help.
I didn't think not using crash bombs would be considered not for runs like this, especially since they're heavily needed for many parts of the run.
I was wondering if it's possible to do weapon-only runs like assault rifle, spread shot, flamethrower, and rocket launcher-only runs?
I was thinking it would be interesting to see if you can beat the game by just using only one weapon. Spread shot and Flamethrower are available on mission 2 while rocket launcher is available on mission 3. So for those runs, you use the assault rifle until those weapons become available and stick with that weapon.
I want to do some runs with just a specific weapon, and it would interesting to see how fast it would be.
I wonder if it's possible to consider some new run categories like 100% (picking up all items, food, and weapons.) or doing like weapons only?
I think having something like that would be of use for this game aside from difficulty.
The reason I'm bringing this up is due to a conversation I had with Cypherin a few days ago about how most of my Final Fight 2 runs get rejected for GDQ's. I think we may need some interesting categories to give the leaderboards some life. Any ideas are welcomed.
Hmm... I was able to see the video when I verified it 9 months ago... I went ahead and sent a message to the WR holder to set it to public. My apologies.
Last week or so, I was trying to find the appropriate time for a countdown. I learned through some tests that the countdown is right around -13.96. I believe this might the right one as by the time you control your character the timer will be right around the 0.00 range.
When I was submitting my run, I kind of got confused about where to put the correct time. The time I submitted was 2163.83 for in-game time.
Is it suppose to be 21 minutes, 63 seconds, and 83 milliseconds? It's kind of new to me.
BTW, that was me that requested a leaderboard. I'm glad it's here! :)
I don't know if this topic would be appropriate, if not my apologies in advance.
Are there any plans to create a leaderboard for the Ninja Warriors Once Again/Ninja Saviors? I plan to return to speedrunning next month, and I plan to start with Ninja first
I hope there'll be some news in regards to that.
I just sent a tweet to Galedog about adding the rest of the difficulties and co-op. According to the site guidelines, we have to wait for a response in 3 weeks time. If not will have to go to one of the forms and make that request for moderator.
I've noticed today after playing this version of Night Slashers that you can't change the game's difficulty. That said, I'm not sure what difficulty it's set on but I can say it is not on the Hardest difficulty.
Another thing to note is you can't change the button control scheme they've set up as far as my knowledge goes; a button is attack, b button is jump, and y button is mega crash.
Also, you cannot change the version settings or censor blood color. This version is the English/international version and blood color is red.
