Yes, it will look like pretty much all runs on the boards

Hello, I'm interested in running this game a bit, currently doing some IL attempts. Quick question however. What is the difference between the American and Japanese Arcade Versions, and why do those differences require the need of making separate categories?

Thank you in advance.

To submit a run with multiple SRC accounts you type their name exactly how it's written, in each player insert. So for example Player 1: lozplyr89 Player 2: LaurieDeBeaver

If it's not written EXACTLY as intended, it won't work

Hello, I am a moderator for the Galaxian series, and a long time ago added Space Galaga to the series boards. I don't see a point in keeping these boards here due to the lack of motivation on my part to attempt to speedrun such a game when I originally intended to.

The game is dead, and nobody knows what it is if I'm being completely honest, and I kinda regret putting the game there if I wasn't going to put some kind of work towards it.

Thank you for reading

Link to the game I'm requesting to have removed: https://www.speedrun.com/space_galaga

It's to ensure that we can get a full accurate timing. Some timers don't use the full info, and some don't use the timer at all. Keeping it under the same rules help make it all reliable in terms of re-timing/re-evaluating runs. It's more a safety net, just in case. It also means we don't set absolute requirements for timers.

Hello, I'm one of the Super Mods for Galaga. I would like to request removal of the other Super Mod, LazerLemon. Recently, he has been caught splicing two runs and lying about it. PrinceRallis (the other mod) and I don't trust LazerLemon having power over the boards, or the runs on it, due to his recent loss of integrity.

The challenge stage rules were slightly altered

The challenge stage runs now end on when the "Number of hits" Text shows up for the respective challenge stage.

All runs have been retimed to reflect the rule change.

It's because All Dungeons uses Barrier Skip.

Yes, they do have this game. through things such as namco museum games, which are ports of the arcade version. Gameboy, and the Gameboy Color have a dedicated Pac-Man port. As well as Gameboy Advance having both a dedicated port of the NES and Arcade Versions of the game.

This game has been probably ported a higher number of times than the Average Human Lifespan in years.

Not to mention the weapons needed to even be able to last half the fight.

^ What Laurie said.

Composite cable Capture Cards don't usually go more than roughly 50 dollars for a more than decent one. Some are also in the 10-ish dollar range. You can decide to get a really cheap one like an ezcap which is like 7 dollars. In the meantime save up some money until you can afford a slightly better one.

While the rules do say Video is required, don't let that stop you from doing runs at all. So my recommendation is maybe start submitting runs when you do get a capture card. But practice and do runs in the time that you have before you can get one.

ruse_sr recently got back, he was gone for awhile. Pac-Man world 3 doesn't need to be scrapped, and as stated before Pac-Man World 3 is different from NES and Arcade.

Im cool with intermission categories. 10k as a misc category is a toss up tbh.

Back when I modded this game I compiled a playlist of a handful of different pac-man versions and looked at their patterns. I put them into a playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLc2TMukCACwBSpKh5DDx004cUN06iA1wW

They were done using a modified NES route from a long time ago. And in that Playlist, Pac-Man World 3, and the NES version are the ones with different patterns.

I didn't test obvious ones like the 2600, but there are some versions out there that should be tested to ensure that we don't make unneeded categories for versions.

That's the reason why there's currently 3 sub categories, as this is how me and PrinceRallis built the board at the time.

Gameboy ghost patterns are identical to arcade.

why a number like that...

It kinda is relevant. So that we can understand what version you're actually playing on. Runs mostly are done on any of the Arcade esc ports for the game though. Such as the Plug and Plays, Namco Museum Ports, etc.

We haven't recieved a run on obscure versions such as the MSX, Atari7800.

Hi, I thought I'd might ask about runs being done on ZSNES for Co-op Netplay. Might be a dumb question, but I didn't see any rules mentioning emulators. Thanks in advance.
