A bin with a cue is fine for this game, the good bin is 556MB. Can you clarify what exactly you meant by working in the menus but not the game.

That sounds really weird, could be a faulty ROM file. If not you can try routing through joy2key.

That is a problem that sometimes happens with savestates, it isn't related to the memfile if it is waht I think. Try loading savestates manually through Loadstate>Load From

Usually I see someone hop in and verify a batch of runs once every few days, so don't worry about it.

Only a few rooms seem to load very slightly faster, but people have reported that the game doesn't feel great to play on xbone.

You can browse through the guides section, we have lots of tutorials, guides and resources there. The most documented and thoroughly explained category is Any% NSC so I would suggest going with that. It is lots of fun and the most active and competitive category. You could also try out Maria Any% or Alucard Glitchless Any%, though that one is pretty difficult.

Yes you can simply wingsmash above the screen in the room with the gorgons. Positioning is pretty tight if i remember correctly.

The Sega Saturn version of Symphony of the Night is essentially a completely different game for the purposes of speedrunning. The category is not here because there are very few runs and it is essentially inactive, but you can still run it of course.
