It can be acceptable. Here is what I used for a few months: https://www.speedrun.com/sotn/run/yl9k39ny Shot with a 30fps 720 webcam. Matt monitor though.

We have not rejected anything. Show your run and explain how it is done, people may play it if they like it. Nobody here is looking for an imaginary crown, we just like to speedrun the game and optimize. Why are you here? Spam drivel and sow discord?

Why I would hate this? Ben's time obviously wouldn't be beaten by this since it is a different category. That's kinda the whole point of categories.

I've been trying to figure out some regional stuff for a while relating to my game(sotn), but maybe this will be helpful elsewhere too. In our case it is the Xbox360, but I recently found out that the NA PS4 also runs at 59.94hz. In the case of the 360 the European console runs at 60hz, which results NA losing about 3.5 frames per minute and not affect loading times(which you guys exclude anyway). I haven't been able to gather a lot of additional data so far. I don't understand why these consoles even adhere to the NA framerate standard still while pal ones obviously ignore it. I also don't know if European PS4 runs at 60hz flat, though I'm pretty sure it would.

Keep in mind that a category doesn't necessarily need to be on srcom. You can still run it and if it turns out to be an interesting run and gets competitive it will naturally warrant a leaderboard.

Be wary that on Playstation the JP 1.0 version of the game would be considered a different category. It has some exclusive glitches and some of the mechanics work a bit differently, no wingsmash chaining for example. There seems to be another Japanese release that is closer to the western game, but we don't really know how that situation is since we don't have many runners on PS hardware.

SSF is acceptable, but I've heard it suffers from input delay. Yabause itself is pretty annoying, but now there is no need to touch that piece of garbo because BizHawk has it's core and it works fine there. I don't think any of us has tried out XEBRA yet, but from all I've heard it is one of the better cores. Usually if there are problems with sotn they are due to audio synch. Psxjin and BizHawk are the ones we usually recommend for PSX, there are some more notes here: https://www.speedrun.com/sotn/guide/mb09w

Bizhawk works pretty well too, it has a couple slight slowdowns, but nothing super significant.

Try reformatting both memory cards then replacing one with the file from resources. Sometimes psxjin has odd bugs.

Why hide the emu runs and phrase the rules in an elitist douchey way instead of just moving them over to a separate category?

Hard to really say anything without seeing your runs. Are you running on 360? Shield dashing speed is actually really not the major factor in clock rush times so I would definitely suggest making it slower so that you don't have issues, but keep it smooth and consistent.

Also it kind of scales with the run. In some areas mistakes are the thing that causes lag or make it much worse. If you're looking for actual numbers the best I can do is say anywhere from a minute to two minutes.
