in the latest update I have removed these glitches from the game because it means that someone who gets a great time, could be overshadowed by someone who does the glitch and where achieving that same time as the glitch time is impossible as it so 'quick'. However, I think your idea is great. we should have a certain category that could be called 'glitches%' where you can use any glitches and bugs to obtain the quickest time possible.
Tweaks and changes: Pausing and then choosing 'Resume' no longer stops the timer.
You can no longer bring up the menu after choosing 'retry'.
If you want to explore the 'next level glitch' and the 'pause glitch' you can do so in version 2.0
Pausing and waiting for the anti-gravity ability to run out does not work anymore.
Well, firstly I will probably remove the bug from the game, seeing as this was definitely not intentional. Secondly, I think that the level isn't really complete until you have hit the level end screen or else it could be quite time consuming trawling through each run to see if the player actually did hit the golden carrot BEFORE hitting the 'next level option'.
However, I totally understand if people want this to be kept in the game as a challenge to master and explore to reach the fastest times possible. It would just mean that the verifying of runs would have to be very precise and strict and would probably mean a lot of runs could be turned down if the player had tried to do the glitch but failed. It is a problem because if you don't hit the golden carrot, you have essentially just skipped the level without completing it but it is possible for this to happen if they do it correctly.
Alternatively, a new category could be created in which players can do the 'next level glitch' on any level, given that they do it correctly. This way, we could encourage people to master this glitch (even if unintentional) and it could lead to some pretty insane times.
It all comes down to what the community wants and feel free to leave your thoughts on this topic.
Thanks.
We now have a Carrot slime discord server where you can make suggestions for the game and show off your speed runs!
It has come to my attention that some times for speed runs are being input wrong. Please read this before you submit a run.
When you submit a run, it will ask you for your time in hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds. In game, your time is in seconds and will show the milliseconds to the first two digits. Therefore, if you get a time of 1.26s in game for example, then your time that you should input into the submission should be 1 second and 260 milliseconds NOT 1 second and 026 milliseconds.
Thank you!
Version 2.0 is now out! Download it here: https://phoenix-wu.itch.io/carrot-slime-2
Big Changes: 2 new power-ups, the anti-gravity ability (Shown in the screenshots above) which flips gravity so you will instantly fly upwards. You can then use this to reach new heights and stick to the ceiling!
The second power-up is the nullify ability which will instantly get rid of any ability you currently have active. I have lots of interesting ideas for levels in which both of these power-ups could be utilised.
The final part to this update is 10 new levels which incorporate these new powers.
Small-ish tweaks: Previously in version 1.2, your best time would not be saved if you moved to a new level. In version 2.0 however, you can do a run of a certain level, then go to a completely new level and do a run there, then if you go back to that previous level, you will still be able to see your fastest time.
