You need a gold SourceRuns account to submit and view glitchless leaderboards.
NekZ doesn't read forums and noone else who made segmented runs for P2 bothers answering. Anyways segmented runs require a lot of experience.
Why do you spam the forum? If you want to say stuff like that, go in the Discord. Also, 17 cycle is impressive at first sight, but you can get way more cycles.
Use Source Unpack. Get a better computer.
CantEven can't even portal 2.
Also it's not inhuman movement, it's just bunny hopping, it's a very nobrain technique.
Well I guess to reduce the queue for run verification. In that case, nevermind, it's not that bad.
Why the heck do you delete the old submission? It shouldn't change anything.
When you submit a new run, it doesn't overwrite the previous one, it stays in your profile under Obselete. To see if a run is correctly submitted, check the hourglass (not the libTAS, ahah get it ?!) in the top right corner next to your nickname, there should be your run submission with its status written. If it's not under "Runs awaiting verification" then it means the run submission got deleted or that you didn't submit it correctly or that there is a site bug. On the latest case, report the bug to Pac without a K.
There is no file called "autosplitter" in the resources.
Count 153 210 529 or 153 210 530 periods of the cesium 133 or else you could just practice the fact to put your finger on a button and remove it as fast as possible.
Bunny hop in Portal is very limited, it's kind of circle jumping. Don't use BH acronym for Portal because it's very close to ABH; sourcerunners usually say bhop instead.
Basically you need to maximize the scalar part of the velocity vector that is going to the direction you want to go. In the BHOP in Source, you need to use the part orthogonal to the direction (forward or backward) so left or right directions and maximize them so that you go further forward by looking at an angle. So you need to have forward speed (so press forward); then jump and release all keys. Midair, you will look with a slight angle to the direction you want to go. Then, press the strafe key in the opposite direction. When you land, press jump then swap to the other direction. Example : Forward Jump Look slightly right, press left strafe Jump look slightly left, press right strafe Jump
Continue the sequence
I would add that BHOP is shit in Source Engine, and you should rather learn ABH/AFH/ASH/S-TAP if you are learning a run that isn't Glitchless.
"Glitch-less" lol
You can post a run in multiple categories if it fits both rules. A 100% run can be in a Any% leaderboard.
Hello everyone,
I know that the community of Aquaria speedrunning is small. Some people think it might be a bad idea to have a discord. However, I think it's cool to have a place; it could be nice to help new runners to get info on the run instead of just "copy the World Record". I think the channel ownership should be given to vayarda and RCHelicoptR for obvious experience reasons and I'll give it ASAP. If the community is so small, noone will read my message, however I am still convinced some want to join. I've setup three roles in addition to ownership role:
- Moderators (to moderate the discord in case of stupid spam)
- Runners (to contact all the runners at once) without any power
- Watch dog (for people who are interested in the run like me but not doing runs) without any power
I've made few text channels :
-
General : General talking
-
Offtopic : For usual shitpost that characterize THE INTERNET
-
Questions : Questions that everyone can ask about the run, likely to be how to beat a boss or for alternative routes
-
Resources : Only mods can post here useful links for speedrunning like the guides, pictures of stuffs ... etc
-
Routing : For routing questions
-
Race : Who knows, maybe a race will happen (it has a Race voice channel too)
-
Modding : Aquaria has modding features, and modding can be cool. Also involves mod speedrunning like the Super Meat Boy mod flippy skippy tricky flingy wingy swingy thingy.
-
TAS : PC TAS gets stronger every day (libTAS by Kilaye might be useful one day 👀 )
Finally, here is a link to the discord : https://discord.gg/qGDGwX
