Check out this awesome tool made by @SlushPuppy: https://github.com/Slush0Puppy/retime
This tool allows you to time accurately based off of YouTube, quickly.
However! You can be rest assured that the majority of leaderboard moderators will do retiming for you if you are having trouble.

@Timmiluvs For instance, scoping out to Discords that cover game, platform, developer, etc. I'd love to be able to link people to a specific mobile game discord, as well as the Mobile Speedrunning Discord itself.
So even an optional second or third Discord link would be nice.
I have a whole playlist of video game music I love to listen to! Here's one that I can repeat over an over again:
In the audit log, it would be great if we could see more information about the run such as:
- Category
- Time
- Platform
- Other variables
Currently these show up as numbers. "Cat" and "Values" here aren't very helpful for identifying which run is which.
{ "cat": 96675, "level": null, "video": "", "comment": "Don't know exact time.", "players": [ "Buckeye" ], "values": { "10561": 35881, "35441": 119685, "35508": 119929 } }
All runs will now be retimed using https://github.com/Slush0Puppy/retime
This is an awesome tool that allows for quick, frame-perfect timing using YouTube! As such, timers are no longer required for runs.
The rules have been updated to include exact start and end frames.
Cheers!
Hey all!
All runs (including obsoleted runs) have been retimed with Slush Puppy's Retime Tool, which can be found here: https://github.com/Slush0Puppy/retime
This tool allows for easy, fast frame perfect timing using YouTube's features. No overlay timers are needed for future runs!
One thing I had an issue with while retiming was that "0" and "100" can sometimes blur into other numbers. Usually I went with the frame that "0" is clear on, and the frame that "100" is blurred on. Since there is no hard ruling on the blur effect, runs may be 1 or 2 frames off. If the leaderboard gains excessive popularity, we will have to set the rule officially. Cheers!
It would be really nice if speedrun.com was open-sourced and recoded from ground up without using PHP.
Instead of having users apply to be developers, the code base should be open to view and submit pull requests to. This would accelerate development and invite a culture of open feedback.
Bakbik, why don't you join the Mobile Speedrunning Discord? You can talk with all of us there! www.discord.gg/bpY8zeB
It's been mentioned before -- I think it'd be awesome if we could have a list of all notifications we've received in one place. And searchable.
Edit November 2019: Thanks for adding https://www.speedrun.com/notifications ! I'd really like to see this page be searchable :)
Under "Edit Game" > "Game types"
"Note: game types can only be set by content mods. Use this thread to request changes."
The thread is locked, so perhaps this link should be replaced.
Edit: Thanks for the follow-up, Daravae!
Edit April 2020: Thanks for unlocking the thread!
Please update the Discord link in the sidebar :D Also, anyone interested in running mobile games, feel free to join the Mobile Speedrunning Discord at this link: https://discord.gg/bpY8zeB
Cheers!
Bakbik, do consider joining the Mobile Speedrunning Discord! You have been asking a lot of forum questions, which is great, and I think you could get answers faster in our community! https://discord.gg/bpY8zeB
There is no major difference between these games. They have a few things that are different, like characters and items, and the worlds are different, but that's about it.
The only thing the new category would add to the current All Worlds - 100% run is death count, and since deaths add time to runs anyway, I don't see the point in adding a new category for that.
Bakbik, I definitely encourage you to do a run of All Worlds - 100%! Check out the current rules listed there, too :D
Hey Bakbik! This category exists already -- check out the All Worlds, 100% runs!
