https://www.speedrun.com/plokoth - This is a short 2D platformer, which is free to play on Steam. I can mostly describe the game as [Celeste with jank controls in the world of "Ori and the Blind Forest"]. You have mechanics similar to Celeste - walljump, dashing into 8 directions, and fruits that refill your dash while in midair.
The visuals are great, but the controls are janky, and it will take you some time to get used to them; but after a while it becomes not so bad. First casual playthrough will probably take you 20-40 minutes, but you can make it under 5 minutes when you are good enough. There is also a shortcut that can cut ~1.5 minute from the third chapter, which you can use in the any% category.
I didn't expect to like this game very much, but here we are.
I just tried the game myself. Other than the fact that the controls are pretty bad for a platforming game like that, the game design itself is pretty solid.
So, are there any glitches you know about, seeing that you cared to separate the leaderboards into "any%" and "glitchless"? In case you don't know about any glitches, why did you separate the categories?
Related to that, you should really update the game/category rules. Stating that third-party programs and splices are banned, is pretty much given by the site rules, so it's redundant.
What are the actual rules for the speedruns? Is sound/music required? What is or isn't allowed in glitchless runs?
You should also write that all speedruns should use "arcade mode" in the options menu, this will enable the in-game timer and a death counter. Very hard to splice with those on the screen.
@Speed_geometry For the act of speedrunning, there isn't any age limit. You can speedrun whatever you want whenever you want, just like you can play games at any age. To use the site you must be at least age 13.
That’s the whole point. It’s supposed to be dumb.
@jackzfiml why can't we talk about non-dumb subjects then.
Go to the game moderators with your evidence and proof that the runner has cheated. We in the general forums can't do anything about it, and can't tell if your accusations are true or not.
When you go to any user profile page, under the "info" tab you can see when they last used the site. And you can see that the moderator was online very recently, so yes, they will see you run. It doesn't matter if the moderator didn't run the game for so long.
