Apologies for the late response. Like I said in the introductory paragraph, the guide is best used being read alongside watching other people's runs. You don't HAVE to learn just by text. We also have a discord server with multiple active runners ready and willing to help you with any questions or concerns you may have. If you really want to learn, you'll figure it out like everyone else had to. With that being said, there's been talk in our community of someone possibly working on a video guide. Your best bet right now would be to join the discord and talk to him!

I suspect that the question will arise in the future; ‘Why aren’t there Chapter Runs or IL’s on this board like for Scholarship Edition?’ My reasoning behind maintaining the leaderboard this way is simple, but I feel that a detailed explanation is necessary. I advocate for chapter runs, in fact they’re what I’d recommend to any new runner of the game. Practice those segments until you’re content with them, then put it all together in a single or segmented speedrun. What purpose do these runs have being on the leaderboard, however; other than a distraction from running the full game? People with real intent to run the game will run chapters, do IL’s, and whatever it takes without the need of validation from a leaderboard. The inclusion of these runs would be completely arbitrary, and it’s why my firm stance on the matter will be to not have them. To keep our leaderboard as clean as possible, full game runs are all that’s necessary. If you have any thoughts, questions, or grievances with my decision, feel free to comment under this thread. I welcome all conversation on the matter, and want it to be as open as possible.

This game is moderated solely by Adam, the only mod who doesn't care for chapter one runs. Anniversary had three at the time it was implemented. I've advocated for it, and in a nutshell, he doesn't see it as a true category. I understand why he feels the way he does about it, and it's a valid way of looking at it. If people care about it, they'll run it without the need of a page on the board. This site is as valid as documenting runs in google docs. It really doesn't matter. If you want to run the game a certain way, do that. It's what I'm doing.

There are currently two active runners of this game, myself being one of them. I agree that there should be a chapter one sub category, but in order for that to happen, we have to make it happen. If you want chapter one on the board, run the game. Make yourself apparent.
