As someone who is new to Doom running, but has been a speedrunner for some time (mostly ILs because they are great for sessions), this is terrible news to me! I don't want to have most of my speedrun history on SRC, then have to link people to a different site just for my Doom stuff. I really dislike the erasure of IL running, but it seems to be a trend in recent years :(

I do understand that short runs lead to there being more in quantity, but since this is a community-run effort, there's an understanding that faster runs have higher priority for validation. (Just my thoughts!)

That makes sense Jux, but my runs are all single item and aren't longer than 5 mins, my PB would also be the fastest one lol

Dragon mate I'm not sure if you're reading the posts but, I'm asking why did they verify run 1 and 3 and skip the 2nd one?

It has been two weeks since they were all submitted, but the question I'm asking is why did they verify the oldest and newest, not in chronological order? Is this a normal pattern?

The run was submitted the day i got it or the day after

I submitted three runs (I am still waiting for one, the waiting is not the problem, I get that mods have other things to do!) and the newest submitted and oldest submitted were verified, but the middle one is actually my current PB;
So what order do mods verify runs? They would have had to skip over one of them to verify my newest one instead of my PB.

Hey everyone so I'm gonna make this short because I have to go to work shortly.

I was made a moderator for the Classic Doom's here on SRC, and there's going to be changes.

1) All IL's/Episode run categories are going to be removed

This is because DSDA exists. There's no logical reason for IL's/episodes to be hosted here when there's already a site dedicated for them.

2) Doom II, Final Doom to be removed entirely

For the same reason above, DSDA hosts demos for these two titles, and don't have categories that can't utilize demos Unless E1=E3 of Doom 1.

3) Demos are no longer required for submission

As stated above, anything requiring a demo will be directed to DSDA. The leaderboards here will be for full game runs only.

4) Rule revamping

This is still a work in progress, but things may change. Unsure at the moment of typing this.

Any runs currently in verification will either be rejected and directed to DSDA if it's an IL or single episode run.
Current existing runs on the board for those will be deleted soon. 

Sorry if there's any inconvenience here, but there's just no reason for these boards to exist the way they do on this site when DSDA already hosts it. If people want to run Doom and submit on here still, the Unity port is the most popular and hosts ALL of these categories, and more, including category extensions for the add-ons, and 2 community-made map sets.
