Funky Dots Tips:

First round:

• Start as low as you can on the board, it gives a higher chance for pieces to fall into place.
• Start by moving pieces into a match, don't move a match that is already finished. The ones that are already together will automatically break once you make the first move.

Mid-game:

• Once started, stay low on the board for as long as possible. Just like at the start, this is just to maximize potential matches.
• Although powered pieces do not give you any extra points for matching, the explosions give you a very large chance of matches falling down, so they are still worth going for.
• The fastest way of generating points in the game is by having multiple matches on every check, so if you can get 2 matches with a move, that is the way to go.
• In order to prevent you from having a situation where there are no possible moves remaining, the game uses a system that ensures you will always have a possible match that seems to work the exact same way as Bejeweled games. This means that if you have no moves on the board, the possible move will always be near where the pieces are falling. Usually if you are this low on moves it will result in a reset though.
• If you are struggling to find matches, look at the entire board and quickly detect which piece is the most common, try to wipe some of those out until you can get back in the groove. I will often do 2 or 3 of one color until I can focus on another color.
