I am Kinda intersted to submit Ignition runs and I have a few question about it ? Is it allowed to run it in Dos Box ? Which version ?
Hey! I am not familiar with Dos Box. As with other programs, I'd obviously suggest using the most up to date version to avoid weird bugs. Most of the runs go by in game time, so I don't see how a different platform would affect the final time in those cases. For championships runs, where the loading times in between races are part of the final time, there might be a difference, but unless it is major then it should not matter in my opinion.
I have wanted to eliminate the loading times in between races from the championship and full game categories by using a special splitting program. However, I am basically the only one running the game and the loading times in between are so short that I never was fully convinced to go through with that.
So without better familiarity with Dos Box I'll say it is allowed. I'll give you a follow on Twitch to see your runs so that I can see the program for myself and how it runs the game. Good luck on your runs! :>
So, as I can see in your reply (wich I thank you for the fast response) I can understand that you don't use DosBox yourself. Can I ask you how do you run the game ?
My version is downloaded from GOG, works well except I had to choose spanish language to avoid gamecrashs at Map Cape Thor. Dunno why only in english.
