yeah i guess it's easier to just keep it on the pc. wouldn't mind it if it was a thing though. also okay, i'll use that thread next time!
Hey i think it would be pretty cool if there was a way to have your own little notepad thing on this site. i tend to write a lot of notes about speedrun-related stuff, future speedprojects etc. Would be pretty cool if you could do that on the site instead of on paper or on your pc. Just to have your speedrun notes the same place as your speedruns.
i used to play an online browser game where this was an option and i think it would be a pretty neat addition to this site. of course i don't know much about the technical side of things, but if it doesn't take up too much time or server power then i think it would be a cool feature. You could even choose to have an option between making it private/public, so if you choose to make it public you can let other people see what speedrun related stuff you're thinking about.
better version of this strat is to get a fire bottle in you hand while you walk with the kids (pc only) and then run and throw it above the wagon. then you don't have to lose time to resetting checkpoint.
this is a bit faster i reckon, but you often softlock. there's probably a way to avoid the softlock but i don't care looking into it
faster route in the wheel saves like 15 seconds maybe
i tried doing a 100% run (segmented with sleep breaks), but it was too painful to complete. if you do a run we can add it to the leaderboards
i'm using mecha'thun against gothik and kel'thuzad now (and sapphiron but i was already doing that) here's my decklists as of rn
there's a discord button under 'leaderboard' and 'guides' in the menu
Hey, i just want to hear other's opinions on this. I submitted FPS Mario to speedrun.com (any%), my time was 16 seconds. It got rejected for being too short??? First of all there's a bunch of faster/shorter speedruns on the site, like dragster, but why is it a bad thing that a speedrun is fast? Shouldn't that be a good thing? I've resubmitted saying that there'd also be longer categories like 100%, all coins, all enemies, etc. Maybe i'm in the wrong, so i'd like to hear other people's opinions on this, but I don't get why they feel the need to regulate speedruns in terms of what they deem fitting for the site? This game is literally build with an ingame timer and stuff, it's a speedgame, no matter how fast it is. Hope yall don't find any fast wrong warps or something, because then your speedrun might be too fast for what speedrun.com likes.
also please i'm just voicing my opinion, please don't ban me
can we try to add an all ores category extension and see if speedrun.com explodes or not
feelsgoodman
nice strawman it aint a meme category, getting diamond+emerald is already a thing, why would combining them (together with the other ores) be considered a meme? get outta hereeeeee
we need more category extensions
yeah idk why this isn't a category yet
maybe coal, lapis, redstone, quartz should be added idk
die% seems like an obvious category extension, every game has it. i wouldn't mind it
shooting fussar straight away
stealing a horse is faster but really hard, also here is this glitchy vid if you ride your horse into the cutscene
yeah as long as we get an online category it'd be nice
edit: meh, it's probably fine that offline is the main mode, i changed my opinion :P
I think the rng aspect is what would make a death stranding speedrun fun. Also it requires the runner to improvise and adapt to what he’s given which makes for an interesting speedrun. As soon as there is a route down the offline run will be really stale and boring, but the online mode adds variance which makes each run more interesting!
hey apparently any% is supposed to be played in offline mode. this is understandable, but i would suggest making a category for both off- and online mode and in my personal opinion online mode should be the "main" category considering how the 'strand' concept is so core to death stranding. anyway, rules are looking cool, gonna be interesting so see runs for this game!
