** Riko's video guide https://www.speedrun.com/hp1ps1/guide/qx5ex ** While this written guide is outdated due to the new discovery that Quidditch Armour and Nimbus 2000 don't matter, it contains a few odd bits that may still be useful, such as a tutorial on the jump between Cauldrons and 4-Eyes that skips the Verdimillious platforms.

[section=Intro] Major thanks to Nitrofski for helping WHiP figure out what could be taken out of the original route, and for WHiP for going through countless times (on console) to find all this out.

100% requirements: **

  • 300 house points
  • All wizard cards
  • All Gold Wings in Quidditch Practice
  • Obtain Nimbus 2000 and Armor.** [section=First Section] Tutorial
  • 15 House Points for the web and rat in the first Flipendo block room
  • 15 House Points for the books

Broom Training

  • 30 House Points for completing all three challenges
  • One Yellow bean on the pole; get it on the second challenge

Wingardium Leviosa

  • All Yellow beans in the time trial
  • 5 House Points when completing the lesson
  • Get all Yellow beans on the bookcase and then the circle of beans in the corner
  • In the area with the Common Room door, go up both stairs to the unlocked Great Foyer door

Great Foyer & Hall

  • Go left to a secret bookcase for a Card and three Yellow beans
  • Go up the right staircase. You can skip the student's trigger by walking along the right-hand banister. Enter the bookcase for the shooty game, then go through the door and pick up all the Yellow beans
  • Leave the Foyer via the downstairs door - you'll be in the Entrance hall. Get on the banister and jump to the far-left door; the Great Hall
  • Get 7 Yellow beans here, leaving the two furthest beans

Malfoy

  • 10 House Points for the hourglasses

Malfoy House Point count: 75 [section=Outside] Incendio

  • Hit the second block on the left as normal (5 House Points), get the Blue bean, then the other Blue bean, then hit the biggest block for an extra 5 House Points NOTE: If you had 70 House Points leaving Malfoy, get the small block in Herbology for the lost 5.
  • 5 House Points for completing the lesson

Enter Quidditch Practice next to Herbology - you can skip the student's trigger by walking around the right side of him. 75 House Points for completing all three challenges

Before Fire Seeds

  • After talking to Ron about Puffskeins, let the Puffskein eat the bushes on the immediate right, get the beans, then do Bertie Bott’s Challenge #1 (the secret wall)
  • Get all Blue beans on the way to Gargoyle (including shooting the eggplant) and go into the secret wall on the right for a Card (which requires a shot into the ceiling where the butterflies are) and more Blue beans

Fire Seeds

  • All 3 Blue beans from Gargoyle
  • All Blue beans in the Fire Seeds area (there's a way you can get all three beans from the tree stump in one jump)
  • Puffskein skips (found by Piston, vid by UglierGoblin):

After Fire Seeds

  • After getting out of the Gargoyle area on the way back, go right, pick up the Blue beans, and enter the secret wall for Bertie Bott's Challenge #2
  • Instead of following Ron, go ahead to a secret wall for Bertie Bott's Challenge #3 (don't worry about the bean, you'll pick it up after Malfoy)

Sloth Brain

  • Pick up the Blue bean
  • Defeat all the Horklumps (mushrooms) for Blue beans and 25 House Points. You should now have all 70 required Blue beans.

Sloth Brain House Point count: 115 (190 overall)

[section=Dungeon]

  • Ignore the bean near the door going into Dungeons corridor, go down the right-hand line.

Potions

  • You'll get 35 House Points out of this section from various things.
  • Get all Green beans from this section
  • When getting the cat, pick up any beans you also get. You can take out future Green beans thanks to this (e.g. getting one means you can miss the bookcase after Yellow-Eye)

Verdimillious

  • In the first Verdimillious room, get the box beans, then drop down and get the 2 beans on the box side of the floor as well as one on the other side, then make it back to the 'recovery' ledge, and you should be able to catch the second book's cycle if you were fast collecting beans. It loses ~7 seconds if you miss, but you'd lose this time if you got any of the beans omitted from the route
  • In the second Verdimillious room, get the box beans and finish the trial
  • 5 House Points for completing the lesson

Cauldrons

  • Before Cauldrons, get all the Verdimillious platform Green beans as well as the box. Then go through the door
  • After Cauldrons, this jump from the old Early 4-Eyes skip:

4-Eyes

  • Get all the Green beans from the area, aside from the box at the bottom of the room before Blue-Eye. This includes one on the bookcase on the immediate right, just after Yellow-Eye, that's very easy to miss

  • 5 House Points for hitting the Flipendo block after Green-Eye

  • 5 House Points for defeating the knight before Blue-Eye

  • 25 House Points for defeating 4-Eyes

  • Two boxes of Green beans after leaving 4-Eyes. You should now have all 80 required Green beans

  • Go left from the ledge and talk to Fred & George for Green beans password, then go to the Portrait to the right for Quidditch Armour

  • When going back up the corridor, go up the other line of Yellow beans and then get the bean you ignored near the door (save the frames). You should now have all 50 required Yellow beans

[section=Upper Castle]

  • After leaving Dungeons, go to the Merlin secret (bookcase right by the Common Room door) and then go to the Common Room for Fred & George Yellow beans password, then go to Upper Castle

NOTE: You don't need any Red beans - an oversight in development means that there is no percentage added when getting Flipendo Duo.

Transfiguration

  • You shouldn't do Statue skip, otherwise you won't get the 5 House Points

Transfiguration House Point count: 80 (270 overall)

Peeves

  • Before picking up the parcel, go left to a secret bookcase for Cat minigame
  • 5 House Points for destroying the cobweb

Troll

  • 25 House Points for defeating the Troll

[section=Gringotts & Forest] Gringotts

  • You need all the gems in order to get a Card from each goblin. If you fail and don't want to reset, be careful when talking to the goblin - not trying again is the default answer; doing that means you'll never get that card in the run.
  • Tutorial for each coin soon

Forest

  • After talking to Hagrid the second time, in the next area, go right. After the Fire Crab, there's a card that requires a shot into the sky

[section=Clean up]

  • On the way to Hogwarts after Flute, visit Fred & George for Blue beans password, and backtrack past the Hut for the Portrait (it's next to Bertie Bott's Challenge #2) for Dumbledore's Card
  • In Entrance Hall, go to the far right-hand door before the stairs to get Yellow portrait for Nimbus 2000

Fluffy House Point count: 30 (300 overall)

The rest is like Any%
