Could probably be sub 3 hours. I'm pretty sure you could go into the last tournament with one level 16 dragon and technically make your way through everyone with that, but you are forced to have at least two dragons, the level 12 would work fine as a back-up, I think. Overall I've only kind of messed around with the Night Fury, so I wouldn't be surprised if other dragons might be more viable.
