When ever i need to use a boost whether it be a vortigaunt boost or a grenade boost I never get enough height. In the blasting chamber I previously used the strat where you jump on the vortigaunts head and wait for him to attack. but i had to save and load literally 30+ times on average and I only managed to get the jump a very small percent of times. Im pretty sure my timing wasnt off and I only ever JUST made it to the ledge. This applies to grenade boosting also, i can never get the height that I see other people get. Is there something I'm missing to make me get higher? (I'm playing on easy difficulty)
....ducking? for easy difficulty u are better off doing the appropiate chamber strat for it.
I have jump crouched and messed around with it many times but no that's not the problem I think. and i did change my strat for chamber but there are other nade boosts that are very helpful that i just cant reach due to not getting enough height. I would love to record it and upload it, is there any recording software that's free and not crap?
I apologize for lack of information. I started running roughly a week ago and haven't got my head wrapped around a lot of it. AHHHHHHH I know what it is. I didn't realize that armor had an impact on force. whenever I did the tests I made sure I had more armor than necessary. Ty d0t :^)
No, that problem was only with the grenade boost. i dont have any armor when doing the vort boost but still dont manage to get enough height a majority of the time. It also seems with the vorts that they charge their attack longer on mine than when i've seen other people running hl1. I'm not sure what the deal with that is
On Easy difficulty their attack speed is longer and deals less dmg > you get less boost which is why that strat is only consistent on hard difficulty.
Change ur difficulty from skill 1 > skill 3 in console for it.
