This will most likely be my last ever run on the HD Edition, excluding the odd VR level that requires it. I think with an excellent single-segment run, a 1:24:XX is do-able and a 1:25:XX would require a lot less than that. A 1:23:XX is 100% possible in a multi-segment setting maybe even squeezing a 1:22:XX.

I think this is my first Big Boss rank in a single-segment European Extreme run, mostly because I stopped going for that rank a long time ago. I set a goal of getting under 90 minutes in this category on a PlayStation 3 a while ago and finally got around to doing it. As far as I know, this is the third fastest European Extreme time on this specific version and platform of MGS2 behind dlimes13's 1:26:30 single-segment run and Anonymityhope's 1:24:24 multi-segment run. Of course, runners such as myself have moved on to other platforms now and I recommend everyone else to do so as well. The PlayStation 3 port of the HD Edition is so inferior to the PC port of Substance (in a speedrunning context). Even if you really wanted to run the HD Edition, I'd recommend playing it on an Xbox Series console so you don't have to worry about stuff like trash load times (also inconsistent with other players) and the potential for credit freeze.
