Games becoming unviewable on july 23rd

Many of you may have seen this already, but I'm posting it here too because of the time-sensitive nature.

Some games with very large leaderboards are prompting moderators to review over 500 runs, and that most likely is just not going to happen for such a huge volume.

I am part of a group that has been working on archiving Youtube videos which will be affected by this change, and we have scraped speedrun.com's API, as well as the leaderboard front-ends for any category with more than 10,000 submissions, as well as the front-ends for all resource and guides sections, for any Youtube links, which we then verified privacy status and publish date for each video against Youtube's API.

A complete (to the best of my knowledge) list of runs, guides, and resources with affected videos can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vR_U0zJrt7D23_vkCIfiHoZDEy2zh_kaARY1QHqFBlwofYtfM3h45xNy7Ca6itwd8_54lAKfVZQVZqc/pubhtml?gid=0&single=true (note that this list excludes rejected vods)

If SRC wants to do anything with this list for moderator notifications, please feel free. Otherwise, moderators can use this to narrow down affected runs and tutorials if they like.

Edit: All of these videos have been completely archived by a team working to preserve as many affected YouTube videos as possible, including rejected runs not included in my google doc above. Restoration efforts will therefore be possible for runs that are not opted-out in time.

I have a question regarding this, cause I want to know how other mods think that "unlisted videos -> private videos" thing will affect their leaderboards: So if the video-owners don't opt out the videos will be private and therefore inaccessible for pretty much everybody. Would you take these runs down from the leaderboard or just let them be (since they have been verified at some point)?

Uh, smart thing to do is download and archive them. The time is legit, so it should be left up.

All of the videos have already been downloaded with the intent of archival by other people I'm working with on this effort, so copies will exist even when videos become force-privated. I don't know yet exactly how requesting a mirror of a vod will work yet becuase there may be copyright things to consider in re-hosting, but I can't really speak to that since it's outside of my wheelhouse.

In addition to copyright concerns, there's also this complication in the moderation rules
Do not copy or reupload a player's video without permission from the user.
Phrasing on that rule could use some improvement. "Copy" and "reupload" do not mean the same thing. There is nothing anyone can reasonably do about archivists personally downloading (a.k.a. copying) vods from youtube, that isn't even a form of copyright infringement. Redistribution on the other hand, without permission, is where it'd be problematic, especially in situations where the original runner is unavailable (or worst case scenario, not even alive anymore).

I saw the original reddit thread- this is a really fantastic effort, if you ask me. The only video I have at risk is Persona's Castlevania Judgement run, and I've already got a local backup of it. They only ever did the one run for SDA, and as far as I know, vanished completely.

@ShikenNuggets makes a great point, but I'm sure we can agree this is somewhat of a grey area for that rule. Preserving the boards comes first, I'd think.
