Well, what do you like? There are way too many free PC games to recommend something. But I can name a few locations and my personal favorites.
ROBLOX has a lot of fun games which are free, for example Speed Run 4 or Tower of Hell. Kongregate and Itch.io for a lot of free web based games. (Celeste Classic, A Pirate and His Crates, Shelled Shinobi) Steam got a lot too. (Helltaker, FrostRunner, Project Exhibited)
Celeste Classic
Please do not group one of the best speedgames ever in the "webgame" category. It is primarily a desktop game D:
Edit: Since when did "D" and ":" form the D: emoji
@Nationtobi Q1 of the FAQs https://www.speedrun.com/speedrunning/thread/pt010 Generally though, you can find a lot of solid free games on itch.io (they're almost always indie games or game jam games though)
Your time on this planet is indeed short, but even running Cave Story will still leave a hollow spot.
Kirbo is the answer you're looking for. https://www.speedrun.com/kirbymeme)
It will change everything for you, give you an entirely different and better view on life. It is truly an underappreciated, revolutionary piece of art.

Here's a list of the most popular webgames on the site right now.
I would not suggest ROBLOX but Karlson if you are looking for a free, fast speedgame. Actually very interesting movemvent. As previous people posted, there are many cool free games out there as well. Cave Story is another good example of it.
While not free in theory, there are plenty of emulators that are free and that allow you to play copies of games that you obviously own yourself and backed up yourself on your PC. See the acceptance for those on the respective leaderboards and check with the game rules/moderators/discord.
A Link to the Past and Super Metroid are also very big communities and do have randomizers. Those are not everyones cup of tea, but some really do find those enjoyable.
There are lots of web games such as the .io games, (agar.io etc) there are also the google games such as google snake game which actually has quite a large community. You can also look through the speed run.com game and when you find a game that you like the look of check if it’s free and start playing!
