Thread: New Updated ANY% Guide For Console?

Started by: BoydieBoydie

5 Jan 2021, 10:39

Hey there Boydie. For console the only really big trick that needs explanation I take would be the Pauseclip.
It's achieved through building up as much speed as possible facing a wall and then trying to pause the game on the frame right before hitting the wall to clip through. There is a Guide linked from a year ago for any% w/ flight on console, which should also explain it in video. Otherwise i generally would suggest to just try and follow a run on the leaderboard for the route.
For The Bossfight you could also use a tutorial of the PC version for parts. (if you're going any%)

Thread: Any Tips for Movement?

So generally the fastest movement can be achieved by groundpounding and roll-jumping out of it. To keep the momentum you want to walk normally as few as possible and instead only touch the ground while rolling or jump again as soon as you hit the ground.
So much for base speed tech.
For further tips or discussing or interacting with the community I'd highly suggest joining the Speedrun Discord.
Everyone is welcome and we're always glad to help out 🙂

A mod changed your time because your actual time was better than the one you submitted it with. 🙂
Our current timing method for console runs are the VOD's time stamps.
As we saw it the run started at 0:46 of the VOD and ended at 2:05:41, which then results in a 2:04:55 tun time. 🙂
How did you measuere it? 🙂
Also Grats for WR!
