Hello all,

This has been a long time coming but I've been slowly making changes to the GT Sport page and I believe I have almost everything sorted with how timings will be accepted from now on. I've weighed the options and have kept in mind that there are significant loading differences between the PS4, PS4 Pro and PS5 that could, and did, have slower runners leading quicker runners due to quicker loading times. I've tried to make it a more skill based leader board than a hardware based. With that, I will list everything changed below.

New updates
New Category added
-Lewis Hamilton DLC (needs work still with deciding timing method etc.)

New Game rules
-Runs will be timed in either Real Time Attack (RTA) format or In-Game Time (IGT) format. Each Category will notify whether runs will be accepted in RTA format or IGT format in 'Category Rules'

-Unless specified within 'Catergory Rules,' all runs must be started from a "fresh" account; to do so, create a separate PS4 account for speedruns and delete the local save data before starting each run.

-Runs must be done on the most current version of the game (currently 1.66).

-Please do not submit the same run to multiple sub-categories.

-Emulators/scripting of any kind are not allowed.

All Category Rules have been updated

Time without loads / Time with loads
IGT Categories will provide both timing options but 'Time without loads' will be the main timing method used for the leaderboard.

New Timing Methods
Real-time Attack (RTA) Categories:
-Any%
-GT League
-All Events
-Platinum
-Mission Challenges (All Stages)
-Circuit Experience (All Stages)

In-Game Time (IGT) Categories:
-Driving School
-Mission Challenges
-Circuit Experience
All IGT runs will have a "splits" sheet at the bottom of their description. The link will show all times added in the run for the total time achieved. All retries will be added as well as a comment made to provide how many retries were attempted for said event.
Penalties will not be added to total time as long as a Gold Standard was achieved.
For example: The events Gold Time is 15.000
Achieving a time of 14.000 but with a 1.000 second penalty equaling 15.000
Gold Trophy was earned and the time added to the run will be 14.000

I believe that's all the changes I've made and updated. If there are any issues or requests that you would like to see made please let me know as I'm working to get everything completed as quick as I can.

Thanks and happy running 🙂

Hi,

I've got one doubt about the splits sheet. You said "All retries will be added as well as a comment made to provide how many retries were attempted for said event.". So for example, if I run Mission Challenge Stage 1, can I retry some races more than 1 time to achieve the best time or is it mandatory to run all the races one after the other (without retrying) in each run?

Thanks for keeping the game updated 🙂

Hey ZepeLink!

Sorry about the confusion on the splits sheet. I'll explain further because I'm sure others have probably thought the same as you have.

With regards to, "is it mandatory to run all the races one after the other (without retrying) in each run?"
- No, you can start and finish all the events in any order as long as all events are completed for the category you're running. Also, you can retry as many times as you need to achieve Gold in an event but all retries will be added to your total IGT (*explained further below)

*Mission Challenge - Stage 1 for example has 8 events and say you got gold for the first 7 events first try. Hypothetically, the 8th event for gold is 20 seconds long. You crash at 15 seconds and restart the event. That 15 seconds will now be added to your total IGT. The next try you beat it exactly on 20 seconds. So the 8th events total time would be 35 seconds instead of just the quickest time you achieved.

The way it would be documented on the comment section in the splits sheet would be:
15.000 | Event 8 - First attempt
20.000 | Event 8 - Final attempt

Retrying after already achieving gold to try and go quicker will result in that time and the new time being added to your total IGT (explained further below)

Mission Challenge - Stage 1 for example has 8 events and say you got gold for the first 7 events first try. Hypothetically, the 8th event for gold is 20 seconds long. You achieve 20 seconds with a gold time but decide to restart the event to go quicker. That 20 seconds will now be added to your total IGT. The next try you go quicker with 18 seconds. Unfortunately, the 8th events total time would be 38 seconds instead of 18 seconds because all retries are added to your IGT.

The way it would be documented on the comment section in the splits sheet would be:
20.000 | Event 8 - First attempt
18.000 | Event 8 - Final attempt

Final attempt being the successful attempt made / finished the event. You can have as many attempts on a event as needed but all the time will be added together for the IGT you spend on the event. Getting a gold and as low a time possible on each event first try will see the quickest runners on the IGT leader boards.

Hope this made it a bit more clear and if it didn't please don't hesitate to ask! Thanks 🙂
