I've had this problem for a couple days: When I try to start Vice City I get "Unhandled exception: c0000005 At address: 006f6330". I have tried everything I can think of: DEP, compatibility mode, deleting save files and .set file, reinstalling multiple times.
My specs in case they would help: Retail version of VC Windows 10 Home Intel Core Pentium 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93 GHz 4 GB RAM AMD Radeon HD 5450
It worked without problems just a few days ago.
Have you tried a full format of your hard drive, (Not a quick format) and reinstalling GTAVC on that? Alternatively, rename your current VC installation folder (dont remove it) and install VC again (without removing or overwriting the existing copy) and run the new install. That worked for me because my hard drive was shite. I dont think it gave me unhandled exceptions though, just crashed.
I didn't post this earlier since I didn't think it would help solve anything, but the address indicates that the crash is related to DirectX. Presumably the game was trying to access some DirectX thing that existed in older versions but not in newer.
VC Enthusiasts, good news!
The VC Mod Team has decided to allow users to access a y-sens fix for mouse issues. This can be used legally in speedruns from today onwards, with only one rule.
