I don't know. It might have something to do with the fact that no more customers spawn. That angry driver was a customer, right? And maybe the game waits for him to be serviced forever?

If this glitch is caused by the no wanted level exploit, then it probably can be avoided by saving and then loading the game prior to doing Vertical Bird. Perhaps this is the best option right? Since the no wanted exploit should not be that important after finishing Las Venturas missions

Good idea @Rhans It pretty much has to be caused by the wanted level exploit... everything points to it. It's still interesting as to why that happened,though. Also i think that the glitch makes AI planes (or atleast Hydras) act differently. In my PB none of them crashed into the bridge & exploded in Vertical bird, it was very weird since it hasn't happened before... could it really be a coincidence?

something else about these strats: you can get trolled in quary: if you enter the marker and get 4¤ as you are doing it, just blow up the dozer and wait 16 seconds and enter it again. There probably is a way to avoid the troll though, like enter the marker after you get 4¤ for that 1 frame or something along those lines.

It's handy that you never use Quarry in the proper route. :)

I looked into this a bit and I don't know how this works... So - at some seamingly random point you got warped to the airport and lost the permanent 0¤.

I looked into the planes thread, the one you use to get 0¤. I have no clue what else would cause this. There is only one "clear wanted level" in that thread and it is only used once: inside a loop where this happens: Every frame

  1. it does a death/busted check.
  2. If you aren't busted/wasted, you get 0¤.
  3. If the plane is wrecked, code execution goes back to the start: 1) There are no jumps to the clear wanted level command from some point outside so the only way it can get executed is in this loop. Since you got 0¤, you therefore must be inside this loop. This happens forever. There is no way to leave this loop other than getting wasted/busted, the code calls that "player defined". Even if there are more ways to get "not defined" and that happened in the video: all that happens then is that some cleanup is done and it ends, no teleportation happens.

There is also no way known to me that could "revive" the plane. No other vehicle handle is saved in that variable.

Maybe you duped the planes thread somehow? I have no clue how it could explain this. Can I have footage of the rest?

Will post-snail trail to ICK would be fine? whole part upto vb would take ages to upload (will edit in here once it's done) What i can tell you though, is that i didn't die or get busted. Only unusual thing was the courier call before entering the airport

You can avoid the despawn area at the start of the mission. It is only as big as the one in Trucking, IIRC. After 3 minutes of not being inside it, the vehicle despawns - that is due to the exe, independent of missions. I did not read the exe code since I don't know how to do that. There is a slim chance that there is some way to keep the vehicle even after 3 minutes besides entering it again. If there is, you cannot get into two monster trucks, since the game only "remembers" your last two vehicles. In SA, unlike VC/III, mission vehicles can "push" vehicles out of these two slots.

I wonder if holding through these 2 missions is consistent with caps? Did you consider doing this setup,patrick? I assume it turned out to be slower? Do cut throat business trigger chasing og loc cutscene get out the vortex,fail mission by headshotting Madd Dogg and start trucking (pause buffer to get an om0 call) get 2 stars -> get in police rancher -> activate vigilante -> kill yourself (my 4:44 pb has this if you want to see how it's done) start holding call-> wait till vigilante timer ends -> enter CTB again (release call during fade) -> trip skip to og loc start holding call at the end of mission(skip last cutscene with mouse if possible) Hold call through riot Whole driving school part if you do it after Toreno's last flight takes around 1:40 (3 golds)+ 8-track setup is like 1m?

The final CTB cs cancels calls. You can get another call in the "wait 400" after the cutscene, and hold that. That seems to be inconsistent for Mh - maybe that is because he did not have any high priority calls in the failed attempts (it is complicated to explain^^) - or I made a mistake or things are complicated.

This should be faster.

Should be slower than the proper call holding route, though.

Holding a call through Ice cold killa with caps seems consistent to me as long as you skip the last part by mashing F. Holding through Pier seems to be consistent too (mission passes when you kill ryder, there's nothing to skip there) You can also get away by getting 1 less checkpoint than patrick does in His PB and if you are a manly man you can skip grabbing 2 checkpoints to save another 10 seconds. With skipping 2 you only have like a 5s window to get to the marker & save twice though, would not recommend :D

First, you skipped on the first frame. It only starts twice if you skip later than that. After that, CJ left the marker. Finally, you skipped too late, the second instance started too early.

Afaik, it is frame perfect, you need to skip on the second frame of the cutscene. That's why it confuses me that anyone could get a 100% success rate - or does it sometimes only start once for you as well? A bunch of scrlogs would be nice, reset.

Changes to the GTA:SA leaderboard

The GTA:SA community has been deteriorating over a long period of time. Many top runners are not currently present on the leaderboard. This issue has not been seriously addressed yet, but an attempt will be made to remedy it now.
