hello, im not sure if anyone recognizes me.. i stumbled across this forum and was amazed at how active gta3 speedrunning is nowadays! i was almost on my own doing runs in 2010 and i had considered this game to be pretty much dead back then. what the hell has happened? why so much interest so many years later? has twitch kind of changed gaming in such a dramatic fashion?

im absolutely puzzled, i must have lived under a rock for the past 8 years.

you guys came up with crazy replay exploits, its fun to wade trough it all. sometimes i dont even understand wtf is going on haha. you even analyze the whole game code. i absolutely love the megajump! ill enjoy checking it all out, its great this game lives on.

oh one more thing before i forget. i remember having an E2G strat that i never managed to get into a run. perhaps because its too risky but id love to see someone pull it off anyway.

it went something like this: fly to portland, fly over banshee and land on grass in front of salvatores mansion. toss a nde over the wall for the first stall. take off on the grass behind all the houses, basically continuing towards the next portland stall. dont elevate too much on take off, float to the next stall and in the last few frames hit the middle of the roof with the nose of the dodo. (wheel hits didnt really work well for me) regain control and perhaps fly towards the ocean for a bit to regain speed/height. erm.. i dont remember how it continued on staunton.. did i just drive for the next 3 stalls? did i land on the yellow/gray roof next to belville parks for the other 2 stalls? either way.. it went on to shoreside hospital, landing on the grass on the cliff, take off by straight dropping into the ocean. then the airport/subway stall last, landing and taking off on the grass just south of the area or hit that one mid flight as well if possible but youd have to come from a N-S or S-N angle as i believe hitting the stalls sideways always bumped too much and had a way higher crash rate.

iirc this was about 40s-1min faster than the still usual dodo-banshee route. its been 8y sorry if my time info is a bit off. i was able to hit that portland stall in midair about 1 out of 3 times.

anyway, nice work everyone, keep going! hope to see a sub 1 one day :)
